Confession time…sometimes, this mom loses things. OK, more often than this mom has lost items. See sadly, since becoming a mom I just can’t seem to not misplace or be able to find all sorts of lost items.
It isn’t rocket science by any means. But still this mom loses more than her fair share often enough. I seriously have lost count this week alone how many times something has gone missing here. Mom brain totally rules here!
So what kind of lost items has this mom misplaced?
Here is my shortlist of lost items…
- My pocketbook
- My iPhone
- Socks in laundry
- My own coffee before I even get to drink it
- Sunglasses
- An umbrella when it is raining
- The remote control, especially my Apple TV remote
- Beats headphones to listen to music when my kids are sleeping
- Kids stuffed animals at bedtime
- My life planner
- My sanity (OK joking aside, but still!).
Thankfully though most times, I have been able to find pretty much all of the above, even my own sanity!

But how has this mom found lost items?
5 Ways this mom found her lost items
1. Check where I’d normally find said item.
Sometimes it truly is in the first place you’d think to look. But still sometimes it isn’t.
2. Clean or tidy up.
Because sadly clutter needs to be dealt with and lost items have a way of becoming lost in the clutter.
3. Check the odd places, too.
Because you just never know, but those keys have even ended up in our fridge!
4. When in doubt, retrace your steps.
I mean if you can recall them, then now is the time to retrace where you have been.
5. Double check the same place.
Because once again even though you clearly checked here doesn’t mean it wasn’t sadly right under your nose the whole time!
While all of the above has helped in the past, there is one I have yet to mention that works every time now!
So what is the one way that has helped this mom to find lost items?
Tile is the one method that has truly helped when this mom loses things.
What is Tile?
Tile is the world’s best-selling Bluetooth tracker.
How can moms use Tile?
Simply attach Tile to anything moms don’t want to lose. Then moms can keep track of it with the Tile app.
Plus Tile isn’t just for keys and wallets. Tile is actually for any item that moms never want to lose, like a bike, a pair of skis, or even your child’s favorite toy. See Tile is seriously this mom’s sanity saver for lost items!
So problem solved as Sesame Street says, “There is even an app for finding lost items with Tile!”
ShootingStarsMag says
I’ve heard of Tile. It sounds like a great way to keep track of important things – especially phones and keys; those tend to go missing the most in my house!

Janine says
Happy to share and I am with you on needing this for multiple reasons, too!! π

My kids would need this attached to everything. They lose everything and then expect me to find it!
Janine says
Dara, I know that feeling well and amazingly I usually can locate their lost items quicker by far than they can LOL!! π

You and Bev might be sisters from different mothers. π Seriously, not a day goes by she doesn’t lose something like keys. I’m going to find a way to subtly put this where she can read it.
Ice this morning…brrrrr!
Janine says
Bill, I am honored to be like Bev as I know she is truly an awesome and wonderful lady. That said I would totally recommend sharing with her though as this device has seriously helped me wonders with lost items here. Colder here this morning, too! Happy Tuesday now!!!

LOL to Apple TV remote π I also had to laugh at coffee, I’ve done that too. Why do we even make it before we have time to really enjoy it. I’ve wanted one of these tile things but my husband needs it more than me. I created a designated key spot and use it faithfully but he does not. One funny, last week I was saying to myself that I needed to charge my phone but I couldn’t find it. So I pinged it and found it on the charger. I had to shake my head.
Janine says
Kenya, we are so similar on so many levels, this definitely included as I have totally had a similar moment with my phone in recent times. Seriously, my mom brain is to blame all the time LOL!! π
Theresa @DearCreatives says
My teen is always misplacing things. Too much homework, after school activities. Let’s not talk about her room. lol
Janine says
Theresa, not looking forward to the teens years here for that by far!! π

I lose my things ALL the time. I’m always one of those who’s always asking the kids “can you call my phone?”. I actually own Tile, and I still have yet to remove it from it’s packaging. Time for me to get them out!
Janine says
I can’t say enough good things about Tile and definitely recommend opening yours to use now, too! π
Aunt Gloria says
Great idea! Tile can save a lot of time and frustration when items get “misplaced.” I’ll have to think about it. xxoo

Thanks and definitely couldn’t agree more about Tile xoxo π
Dara says
Hmm…I have two kids that are constantly losing things…I’m thinking this could make a good Christmas present. π
Janine says
Same here with the two kids losing things. OS highly recommend as an awesome Christmas gift for that reason alone π
Nellie says
omg I lose things all time, I would absolutely attach this to my keys because I lose them in my house DAILY! Sometimes I think I have “lost” them because I have unconsciously put them in my pocket already. smh.
Janine says
Omg, totally done that, too and so been there!! π
Leslie says
I’m so bad ad losing items, that I had an idea for something like this about 10 years ago. Looks like I should have acted on it then. Oh well. It’s good to see that someone else took the opportunity. Thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
Tamara says
I never considered myself as having mom brain until I had two kids. There seems to be no cure internally, so might as well try these genius products! I’ve never heard of this but it’s awesome.
Janine says
I had such a great memory, too before having my kids. But alas no more and this device is awesome for this and more!! π
