Addicted to clothes!! That was me before I had kids and was single. I used to spend my paycheck on the newest and latest clothing trends and seriously was very well put together. I loved to mix and match, as well as try new styles.
I think my daughter, Emma gets this from me, because she will always tells me that she has to wear a skirt and everything needs to match. She learned her colors at an early age, so she knows that pink socks need to be wear with a pink shirt, for instance.
I also still love clothes, but will be honest being a stay at home mom, I don’t have the extra money or luxury to spend our money on the latest and greatest clothing for me. Don’t get me wrong my kids dress beautifully and have the wardrobe of princesses, but mine sadly has taken a backseat.
I also don’t go out all that often enough to necessitate that I spend a ton of money on clothes for me either. Last year, I can count on one hand how many times, I went somewhere where I needed to dress up.
One of the instances, I went to Macy’s and bought a nice designer dress to wear. I wore it once and had no other use for it. Before the bill came, we had an unexpected expense for something and couldn’t afford both the dress and that expense. I did something I swore I’d never do and that was return a dress even though I wore it. I am a bit ashamed to admit this here and was pretty nervous doing it, but Macy’s took the dress back with the tags and original receipt no questions asked.
Trust me, I wasn’t proud doing this, but I needed the money for more important things at that point. I also swore I would never do this again if I could help it. Then just recently, I found an awesome company created for the specific reasoning of wearing a dress once and returning it.
This company is called Lendperk and was created by Star Li for this exact idea. Star describes Lendperk in her own words as a “Netflix for Dresses”, where you can rent dresses that you would find in stores like Anthropologie, ASOS, Modcloth, and more. These dresses are quite beautiful, normally some may be a bit pricy and are what is totally currently in fashion, as well as truly for someone like me who loves designer clothes, but can’t afford them.
Lendperk offers three rental plans. They are as follows:
- $20/month – rent 1 dress every month (2 week maximum rental period)
- $34/month – rent 2 dresses every month
- $49/month – no limit on how many dresses you can rent.
Also, a 9 day free trial is included with every plan for newcomers to test out the service with no financial obligation. You can check out one dress during this rental trial for free! And you only pay when you decide to become a member. They are also constantly adding to their collection with more dresses being added every month in different sizes!
I recently got to try this service out and was totally 100% pleased. This really is something that is so easy to do and really in my eyes a great service. I mean most times when I did buy a dress for an occasion, i would only use it the one time and then it would get hung up in my closet never to be used again.
In this case, I get to rent a truly fabulous designer dress for a very low reasonable cost and then it goes back. No hanging around in my closet never to be used again. And I am also not spending an absorbent amount of money on something I will only wear once.
Here today, for my readers Lendperk is running a giveaway for a free two week dress rental from anything in the dress collection. All you have to do is enter the Raffle copter giveaway below.

Ten tshirts, two pairs of jeans and a fleece jacket. That's my wardrobe! i'm afraid this offer doesn't work for me. π LOL
Janine Huldie says
Lol, I can totally understand that this may not work for you. Sorry Bill, hope the next one out might be more up your alley, but thanks for reading, commenting and supporting me as always!! π

Umm, very cool! I love dresses!
Janine Huldie says
Oh Kathy, so do I and hope you entered the raffle. If you did, I wish you luck!! π

This is a cool concept, although I would be sad if I really liked the dress and then had to give it back, especially since I spent the money to rent it. I think it would be perfect if you needed a more formal cocktail dress for a special occasion and didn't want to buy one. How did you like your dress? Did you wear it out on a date with the hubs? π
Janine Huldie says
Kera, I wish I could say I got to enjoy the dress, but I had a wake to go to and then Emma got sick. So, unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy as much as I would have liked to, but let me tell you I tried the dress on and loved it. Would have liked to have worn it more thug, but a so using her service for a few events I have coming up in the next few months now π
Janine Huldie says
That sounded awesome, too Amy and wish we would have had something like that when I was younger and would have used that quite often. Glad though to share this company now. I hope you entered the contest and good luck!! π

What an AWESOME giveaway!!! I hate buying stuff for myself. I'm like you, I bought one dress in the past 6 months and it was for my friends wedding (oh and my mom bought it for me). I hate buying clothes. I live in jeans and t-shirts! I would love to test this out one day!! What a great idea/concept! Off to enter!!!!
Janine Huldie says
Oh awesome and so happy you entered. Totally good luck and honestly love this concept. When I was contacted by Star, I knew I needed to try this and share. Just wish Emma didn't get so sick and actually got to wear the dress out, but am so going to use her service in the future when I do have to go out now.

It's funny you should mention that…I've also done it – worn clothes and taken them back. ONCE. For about the same reasons that you did. I felt bad too, but really did not have the money to keep those clothes. I've never done it again. I love this idea of renting dresses and clothes! What a fantastic idea! And NICE clothes too. Great review Janine! π
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Melanie. Seriously, I felt terrible doing that, too, but kind of happy knowing I am not the only one who has done it. I am just so happy to be able to share this company and this awesome service with all!! π

Janine Huldie says
Oh my pleasure Stephanie and these were the types of events that I was truly thinking of when Star contacted me to help out others who needed it, because have a communion, dance recital and few other events coming up that I am using Lendperk for π
