Oversharing and sometimes saying more then I probably should. I do this all the time. Hell, I blog daily and am considered by most in my family, my husband included, to say more than I should by telling too much information here, as well as in general. I can tell you how many times, Kevin has said to me, “Can you just get to the point?” or even, “Who are you talking to now?” I have also heard, “Can you ever just be quiet?” The answer quite simply is a resounding “No!”
So when I was asked by Heather Davis, if I would be interested in reading/reviewing her new book “TMI Mom: Oversharing My Life”, I knew I just had to. Seriously the title alone spoke to me and my oversharing tendencies like you wouldn’t believe. I was also quite honored to be considered for this wonderful opportunity to get to read it even before published and get to share about it here with all my readers.
See, I read Heather Davis’s Minivan Momma blog daily and one of the things I do love about her is how open and down to earth she is. She just tells it like it is on her space. We share a common bond on this concept and became fast friends in the blogging world, because of it. And then I actually got the pleasure to start to read her book and let me tell you, if I loved her and her blog before I absolutely adore her now and her book is truly a godsend for mothers of our generation all over.
See nothing in her life is off limits in her latest book. From her courtship and marriage with “The Dad” (her husband Brian), motherhood (being the mother of Daughter 1 and Daughter 2), exercise (her loathing of it–a girl after my own heart), her body (a very hilarious straightforward tale of getting fitted for a new bra), her hair (graying early, just like I did and could have so written this passage myself) and her general view of life. All of these tales are told and not only with complete honestly, but with such humor you just can’t help but laugh and root for her, as well.
I don’t want to give too much away or spoil the fun for you, but let me tell you, Heather just has a way of making the reader not only laugh out loud, but also make you feel like you know her personally as a friend, all while commiserating and even sharing in her exploits.
Quite honestly, I think you will not only enjoy reading her book, but not want to put it down. And when you do finish it, you will want to read it over and over again, because it is just too good and you will not want it be over. Believe me I have been there and have now been re-reading it, because it truly is that enjoyable!!
So, Happy Reading and Oversharing!!

It sounds like a great book! It's really interesting how we went from not talking about parenting/ marriage struggles to over sharing as a generational difference!

Susannah says
Wow, what an interesting book. I don't have kids yet, but I've definitely thought about how much I will be willing to share about them on my blog when they do come around.
Janine Huldie says
I know Susannah and I had to make that decision too and to be honest, I want them to be able to read and learn about themselves at this age. So, most of my sharing of them is to have some documentation as they do get older π
Lisa Newlin says
That's so awesome you got to read it for free before it came out! You're such a VIP! π
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Lisa and I loved being able read it in advance and was dying to share as soon as I could π
