Fall is definitely here…
Mid last week, we had some 90 degree and humid weather, but then over night it turned quite cool.
The following morning, you could fill a distinct nip or chill in the air. It was as if Fall arrived with a blink of an eye in the course of a mere few hours of shut eye over night – Wake me up September is most definitely here and not over yet.
And even though we made it to 70 degrees under mostly sunny skies, it was still not a summer 70 degrees, but more a fall, breezy 70.
So, I knew what I had to do and got cracking as far as being more organized went…
Because school (on our third week in now) and soccer (on our way to week three) are definitely in need of me keeping up and being on top of all that is needed for the school year and sports season, as well now.
On Friday, I took a ride with Lily to Target, while Emma was in school to try my hand at being the mom who at the very least will no longer forget things, such as kindergarten orientation (yes, most who read this blog are aware that I did indeed do that and surely won’t be living that down any time soon here).

What was I looking for and end up buying to help me be more organized?
A countertop/desktop organizer to put papers (yes everyday more papers from school come home) and pens, as well as other important school supplies, such as scissors and such…
And a cork bulletin board to hang all upcoming and important notices from the school, as well…
And yet as organized as I have gotten, I couldn’t stop Lily from coming down with her very first head cold of the Fall season this past weekend.
That’s right this past weekend on top of all the wonderful that surrounded us, Lily was running a low grade fever, as well as complaining of a stuffy nose (Kevin told me with her little nasal voice she sounded like she was drunk! – But seriously she just sounded so pathetic).
So, she ending up vegging out, while watching her fair share of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse On Demand with her blanket on our couch. Ironically enough, I got to try out my newest Influenster VoxBox get, because of this though.
What did I get? Click here to find out!

I so get you on the September disorganized feeling…I call it “September madness.” When my kids were starting “real school” way back when, I too bought an organizer with 3 shelfs (for 3 different kids) for papers, homework, etc. which I keep in the kitchen. And to this day, I still use it! So, I’d say you’re on the right track – love the bulletin board too!

Poor Lily… it’s the back to school colds starting already. Sean had one too. I am in the process of organizing as well (back to school and the entire house). It’s never ending!!! Good Luck!

It did seem to feel like fall overnight! It’s my favorite season, so very excited it’s here π Eve got a little cold already too, and then promptly passed it onto me right in time for the start of my vacation, boo!

You ARE organized!! π I try to pretend like I will do stuff like that every fall when school starts back up and then I pretty much don’t. I think the bag of last year’s end of the year stuff is still sitting on my back stairs! π Hope sweet Lily is feeling better!-Ashley

All those papers from school! Drives me nuts. But, as moms, we need to figure out how to organize it all. I’m thinking of getting bulletin board specifically for timely school papers we need to deal with each week. Thanks for sharing how you organize. You’ve got me inspired!

I couldn’t stop pinning! By the time I got to the comment section, I forgot what I meant to say!
Only to say that I hope this 70 degree sunny day will warm the house that we won’t resort to heat or pellet stove for tonight’s low of 39. Yikes!
And I hope you all stay as healthy as possible.

I’m working on being more organized too. I bought a binder to keep all the school notes and info in. Now I have a pile of papers and an empty binder! I need to sit down and sort before the papers take over!!

I used to have a cork board too, although I’m not in school age… Hahaha! Nice idea, your little girl will enjoy it pretty much.
