So, while I am still enjoying the summer time for all it is worth, still beginning to think in terms of the new school year that looms.
While, I previously designated an area for school supplies, papers and even a bulletin board for keeping track of upcoming school/extracurricular events, I still was slacking on one area even during the last school year.
What was I missing from my school organizational setup?
A Homework Station
Why a homework station?
Well, both my girls are now clearly old enough to have homework daily and while having a place for extra school supplies was indeed nice to have, we need a homework station on our dining room table while homework was actually being done.
See, homework seems to be done for the most part at our table. Somehow all sorts of supplies would be used daily, but not put away often enough back where it belonged in the drawers, I had designated for them.
So, I thought ahead for this upcoming year and decided to indeed make a homework station by making sure to everything my girls will need would be in one place on our table, but moved easily still if need be as the wooden crate pallet, I found has carved out handles just for this need.
Here is how to what to include in your own DIY Homework Station (all found on sale at Walmart):
- Wooden Crate and Pallet Box
- Mason Jars
- Post It Notes and Flags
- Paper Clips
- Safety Scissors
- Folders for Papers to be kept and/or signed to return
So, in beginning my back to school supply shopping of the products above at my local Walmart, I also was happy to pick up some other much needed supplies for our household with Kimberly Clark paper goods with special edition Kleenex back to school tissues and Scott Toilet Tissues, which all include Box Top for Education labels.
Once we are indeed back to school, I also know our local school will begin their annual collection drive for Box Tops for Education. They collect them from the student population, because it benefits our school by helping to purchase books, computers, playground equipment and so much more supply wise to benefit all.
See Box Tops for education has been helping schools across the nation since 1996.
By the way, right now as luck would have it, Kimberly Clark products, such as Kleenex, Scott and Viva products are available at Walmart for DOUBLE the back to school box top earnings!
So while I was doing my Back to School shopping, I also got a jump start on earning Box Tops, too. See all of these products help parents, myself included to further prepare for that first day of school.
So therefore shop your local Walmart for all your Back to School needs and make sure to get Double Box Tops this year by purchasing Kimberly Clark products, too.
