With Thanksgiving and Christmas on the way desserts, pies, cookies, and even cupcakes are taking center stage. I have made it no secret here that I have a picky eater on my hands.
Well, my picky eater is not a fan of fruits and veggies. This kid begged us to go apple picking. She swore she ate an apple at school for the first time recently and liked it. The same kid took one bite of one of the apples and spat it out.
Moreover, she also recently convinced my husband that it was only because the apple wasn’t dipped in caramel. So, dad bought her a caramel apple with chocolate chips and nuts. Once again, the verdict was not a fan of apples even candy coated!
So, I have had to get creative with sweets and desserts for this kid. Trust me; she won’t be eating any fruit pies like pumpkin, cherry or more.
But she will eat cupcakes. Believe it or not, she not only loves regular icing but fondant, as well.
So, I decided to make mock cherry pie cupcakes minus the cherry using fondant.
These cupcakes are seriously too cute. And they are indeed picky eater approved here. Plus, they are the perfect holiday cupcake. See for Thanksgiving; they are the ideal fruit pie themed that are kid-friendly. On top of this, they also work for Christmas time, as they are red and festive looking, too.
