Brownies are a huge hit with my family, especially double chocolate brownies. So much so that we always seem to have Brownies in our home. I do my best to bake homemade brownies as I often as I can for my gang for this reason. But some of the ingredients in brownies are (gasp!) not entirely healthy. One of these ingredients is cooking oil. That is why I have started to bake our brownies with Mazola® Corn Oil instead of regular oil. A clinical study showed Mazola Corn Oil reduces cholesterol 2x more than extra virgin olive oil. To learn more about this claim, see Mazola.com.
Trust me, Mazola® Corn Oil is not only great for baking brownies, but for many other recipes, my family enjoys, as well. See Mazola® Corn Oil is all-purpose oil to cook with, too. You can use it to bake, grill, sauté , stir-fry or even mixing up your favorite marinade or dressing. With stir-frying, sautéing, grilling, as well as baking, Mazola has a smoke point higher than 450°F, which is higher than most other cooking oils. Plus, it is a smart heart-healthy choice for your family.
You may still be skeptical, especially taste-wise. But I am here to tell you that taste isn’t an issue. Why? Because Mazola has a neutral taste that lets the natural flavor of your food stand out.
So, corn oil and Brownies are genuinely meant to go together.
On a side note, I am truly thankful that my kids have never suffered from a food allergy as children. But some of their close friends have. So, not only was I happy to find Mazola for my homemade brownie recipe.
But I was also delighted to make my brownies allergy friendly, especially gluten-free by switching out a few key ingredients.
I also use allergy chocolate chips (instead of regular chocolate chips), coconut flour instead of regular flour and even Argo Baking Powder (instead of regular baking powder), which is Gluten Free.
See such easy substitutions to help make our homemade double chocolate brownies allergy-friendly.
Yet, we haven’t lost any of the delicious flavors at all. I mean it. These double chocolate brownies are heavenly. They are a must try for all!
