I have been upfront and honest about my family’s adoration of Mickey Mouse on my blog. Starting with my husband, who as a kid learned how to draw Mickey Mouse, as well as studying up on his origins with Walt Disney.
When I met my husband back over 15+ years ago, I confess I wasn’t as big a fan myself. But his absolute childhood love of Mickey Mouse was contagious. Then, I had my second daughter. See from the moment she first turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse; she was hooked. Mickey became her main squeeze. For her first birthday, her birthday cake was a homemade cake in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s face.
Finally, we took our family to Walt Disney World back in 2015 for the first time. My youngest was four years old at the time. All she wanted to do was meet Mickey Mouse. The look on her face back then was priceless and honestly worth every penny we spent on that trip.
Granted we have now gone back more times throughout the last four years. But each time at Disney, my youngest makes it her business to see Mickey Mouse in person. Both my girls also search for Hidden Mickeys in the parks and resorts, too. Plus, she is so proud that her birthday is also in November just like Mickey’s. Each November, she makes sure to tell Mickey she also is celebrating a birthday with him.
So, with all this Mickey Mouse love in my family, how could not crush on this most famous mouse myself?
Well, back before St. Patrick’s Day, I made bark candy for the greenest holiday all year long. My younger daughter loved the bark candy. But she asked me why we couldn’t make Mickey Mouse Bark Candy.
I thought for a moment about her request. And then I thought why not? So, what came next indeed would make any Mickey Mouse fan proud.
You guessed it. I honored my girl’s simple request. I made Mickey Mouse Bark Candy for our whole family. This Mickey Mouse Candy is so very easy to make. I only used white chocolate discs for the chocolate candy base. I also added both regular sized M&Ms, as well as mini M&M’s and round sprinkles, too. Each piece of candy includes a Hidden Mickey from the M&M’s.
Indeed a colorful and fun Mickey Mouse Candy Bark treat for all.
