Well, it is August here finally. My kids have a few weeks left of summer vacation now. But I know many people go back to school around this time or even went back already. See here in NY, we don’t end school until the last week of June. Therefore, my kids don’t return back-to-school until after Labor Day in September.
However, we are beginning to start to prepare for going back with backpack shopping, clothes, and more.
So, back-to-school is something on our minds. Back at the end of the school year, I cleaned out last year school supplies and only kept what was still in good condition. Believe it or not, we had quite a few packages of brand new pencils here. Don’t get me wrong we used our fair share for the last school year. But somehow we still had extra.
As I add in newer supplies, I didn’t need to buy more pencils just yet. However, I wanted a fun and easy way to keep the pencils stored for my kids to use for back-to-school homework and more at home.
But this time out, I was looking to repurpose for storage space for pencils or school supplies.
Therefore, I ended up painting a mason jar to look like a Number 2 Pencil. Get it?!!
This craft is so easy to make, and such a fun back-to-school themed craft that all in the family can enjoy and make. You can easily store all those pencils and more this school year, or gift to your kid’s new teacher this year. The choice is yours!
