That said, a planner is a great way to get started on all those New Year’s Resolutions and plans.
Are you excited to learn how to not only to start but keep using a planner in the new year?
Then, read on for 3 very simple ways to do so now.
3 Easy Ways to Start and Keep Using a Planner in the New Year
1. Find a planner that works for you.
This first tip sounds like a no-brainer. But let’s face it there are so many physical planners to choose from out there. But last year, I happily shared when I found Erin Condren. Seriously, I gushed and rightfully so. Because Erin Condren Planners are the best out there that I have found. They really have so many different types and styles of planners to choose from. So, they have something, everyone.
This past year, I used my Erin Condren Planner more often than not and I am still using it, too. I can never rave enough how my Erin Condren Planner cover was completely customizable with my favorite Walt Disney World vacation photos. You can bet when I am due for a new one I will be doing something for my next planner. Also, I loved that they I had adorable post-it notes and gel markers that I ordered directly from Erin Condren to work with my planner. Therefore, the planner accessory options are plentiful, as well.
2. Start by filling in important dates.
Yet again, this tip is easy and simple enough. But when you first get a new planner, I can’t stress enough cracking it open to jot down all those important dates that you are already aware of for the upcoming year. See these dates are those you know now, but also don’t want to forget later. So, they should most definitely be the first to be written into your new planner for the year.
3. Make time weekly for your planner.
Once you do have those most important dates for the upcoming year written into your planner, you aren’t done by any means. I would highly recommend setting a schedule to be able to work on your planning weekly. I happen to love Monday mornings right after my girls head off on the bus for a new week for this. Even though that works for me, it may not for you.
So, come up with a planned schedule to sit with your own planner that indeed works for you for the upcoming year. Trust me having set aside planning time makes all the difference where using a planner is concerned.
