Recently, I saw one of my blogging friends divulge some personal info about herself in a few and creative way. She decided to post 30 random questions and answer them.
This got me to thinking that while I do share a lot here. I mean it is my space. However, I still feel like so much is left unsaid. So, I thought I’d take this opportunity to post up her 30 random questions, as well as answers them for myself.
So, thanks Lisa for the much needed inspiration.
Without further ado 30 random questions and my unique answers…
1-Do you have a lucky number and why is it lucky?
The only number for years was 610, which is the day I was born on (Jute 10th). But since meeting my husband, I would say 712 (the date of our first date. But then after having both my kids, I have also added 717 (July 17) and 1123 (Nov. 23rd). So, I guess now I have more than a few!
2-Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen one?
I know many would say they were not believers. But I happen to be, especially after my beloved grandfather passed on back in 1999. As, I have most definitely felt his presence over the years since then. Others might even say this is wishful thinking, but I can’t help, but believe that there is something to this and that there is some form of life after death. Don’t get me wrong, I have never physically (awake) laid my eyes on a ghost, but still feel that there is something to this.
3-What kind of music do you like most and what is the last song you downloaded??
I happen to like all kinds of music. When I was younger, I would have told you I would never enjoy country music and even went as far as to say I couldn’t stand it. But in the last few years, I have since changed my mind on this. I guess what they say is true that a girl always has the right to change her mind.
As for the last song, I downloaded, Tennessee Whiskey, by Chris Stapleton.
4-Do you play any instruments? If not, what instrument would you like to learn?
As much as I love music and listening to it, I never really loved playing an instrument. My only time out was in freshman year of high school, when I was forced to take music. I wanted to take art, but the class sections were filled. So, it was either play a musical instrument or not get the credits I needed for my 9th grade art elective. However, the school was nice to share if my parents paid an $100, they could somehow find room in that closed out class section for me. Needless to say, I begrungingly took music and faked my way through playing the recorder!
5-Which personality trait of yours is your most favorite? Least favorite?
I would have to say favorite is I am very loving, loyal and affectionate. As for least favorite, how hard I am on myself workwise. Type A personality in that vein. As much as I am a hardwired to be a hard worker, sometimes I just put too much stress on myself in all honesty.
6-What is the furthest you have traveled from where you live?
My husband and I went to the Bahamas for our honeymoon back in 2006.
7-If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?
I would totally follow my kids around at school and see what they really do when I am not there!
8- If you were making a time capsule today for your great-great grandchildren 100 years in the future, what are some things you would include?
Definitely include photos and momentos that are special to us now from our Disney trips and more.
9-If you could remain the same age for eternity, what age would you choose and why?
Will say not the age I am now as I feel every bit of my age. This varies though for me. I am not sure I’d want to be a teenager again and relive all that drama. Nor would I want to deal with all the angst that came from my early 20s either. Maybe 26, when I first met my husband or 29, when we were first newly married. But then again, I’d miss my kids way too much. So, really not sure to be honest.
10- Do you think it’s okay to lie to someone in order to spare his/her feelings?
Being that I am truly too honest for my own good and not a great liar by any means. Pretty sure, I would have to say I wouldn’t be able to bald face lie even if I wanted to. So, therefore I probably would have to gently tell the truth without trying to completely hurt the other person inquisition.
11-If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?
An immediate trip to Disney for my family as this truly is our favorite place to be and would want to celebrate there with them.
12 -When you go to the movies, do you get popcorn or candy? If candy, which kind?
Usually popcorn or even nachos as salt wins out for me. But not a big candy or sweets person.
13- Speaking of movies, what is the last one you saw in a theater?
Just saw Boss Baby with my kids for their friends’ birthday party.
14 – If you had to, which of your 5 senses would you choose to live without?
I would never be able to say sight as I saw my grandmother slowly lose her vision with macular degeneration and how much this effected her. Hearing is also another that would be off the table as I’d miss hearing my girls’ voices and laughter too much. Probably smell as a last resort as much as I know there were times I would miss it. Still there would be other times such as recently when our church added new mulch to their lawn and there was a smell I could have lived without taking in!
15 – What were your best and worst subjects in high school?
Math and History, believe it or not! English was a close third. But science was definitely at the bottom as I truly didn’t enjoy biology with dissecting a frog and earth worm. Just gross!
16 – What were the mascot and colors of your high school?
My high school was the home of the Red Devils. Therefore our colors were red, white and sometimes black.
17- What time is your alarm clock set for and what sound does it make (buzzer, radio, a particular song)?
I don’t set an alarm. My husband does though and his is set for 6:40 am. I am usually up a few minutes before it looking at my iPhone for new emails and such.
18 – Are you an early bird or a night owl? Has that changed with age?
Never was and never will be a morning person. God, how I need time to wake up even now. Evening have always been better. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stay out and party until 3 or 4 am like I did in my late teens or early twenties. But I still function better as the day goes on versus at 5 am!
19 – Do you have siblings? Do you like your place in the birth order?
I have one younger brother, (by six years) who is an awesome brother and uncle to my girls. He will always just be Uncle Michael to them!
20 – If you were only allowed to have one type of dessert for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Wow, not sure to be honest. This is a hard one to chose. Might have to say ice cream, because at least I could still have options with the flavor at the very least!!
21 – If you had to, could you jumpstart a car or change a flat tire?
Neither as I couldn’t do either of these to save my life. My dad always did stuff like this for me when I was younger and since he had a heart attack and stroke a few years ago, now a mechanic does stuff like this for me.
22 – Do you cry easily? What’s the last thing that made you cry?
When I was a kid I totally did. So much so that my mom actually would say, “Save those tears for when you will really need them.” Now, I don’t recall the last time I cried in all honesty.
23- Have you or would you ever skydive or bungee jump?
That would be a big fat NO to both!
24 – What was the last thing that make you feel really angry?
Honestly, I can’t recall, but pretty sure it was something that either my girls or husband did to get under my skin as much as I love them, they all know how to ruffle my feathers, too.
25 – Do you frequently remember your dreams? What is the last dream you recall?
Sometimes, I do. But sometimes I don’t. As for the last dream, I haven’t dreamt in quite some time and really don’t recall when or what I last dreamt about. But when I was younger, I used to dream all the time. For awhile after my grandfather passed away, I dreamt of him often. Pretty morbid to some, but I know I just missed him terribly. So, my dreams were definitely reflective of that.
26 – Have you ever been on TV? What for?
Not that I know of!
27 – Who is the last person you actually called (no texting!)? What was your conversation about?
My husband, who asked me a question about our daughter’s upcoming communion party as I was writing this.
28 – Are you a hugger? Other than spouses or children, who is the last person you hugged?
I am big time hugger and just overall very affectionate. Both my girls took after me on this, especially my younger daughter, who has been nicknamed “The Cuddle Bug”. The last person I hugged was my girls before they got on the bus for school this morning.
29 – Have you ever won a contest or random drawing? What was the prize?
Over the years, I have won a few contests. My overall luck isn’t great, but still have been lucky here and there. One such time was when I was in middle school and won a Chinese auction for an NKOTB assorted gift basket with such items as a pillow case, big pin, CD and more with the band on it. Most recently, I won an extra Broadway show ticket for my family to see Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway with my family through the Girl Scouts.
30 – Using the first letter of your first name, list the following- all beginning with that letter. (i.e. My first name is Janine, so all mine have to start with and “J.)
• Food – Jello
• Drink – Juice
• Item of Clothing – Jacket

That was a bit more info than I knew before of you. I have to say I’ve never believed in ghosts but I know a lot of people do. And I’m not overly affectionate so I’m not a big hugger, but Madison totally is, and as for taking a trip to Disney if you won, that would be mine too, but I’d want to go to one of the Disney parks overseas like Tokyo which we have planned for 2019. BTW I played the recorder in high school too and it was rather fun. 🙂
Janine says
If I won a Disney trip, you probably hear me shouting from excitement all the way on the other side of the country in your neck of the woods. Just saying!! 🙂
Kathy Radigan says

Jhanis, I couldn’t resist about Disney and seriously still is the most magical place to me!! 🙂
Mary says
I love these question posts, they are so much fun. I’ve never done one before. OMG, I LOVE country music too, lol. I love seeing all the old pictures. I’m also a hugger, one of those weird long huggers, and most times I don’t even realize I’m doing it.
Janine says
Thanks Mary and I know I definitely will hug for a longer time period, too more often than not 😉
Aunt Gloria says
This was fun! I guess you and I will be eating ice cream together through eternity! 🙂

Sounds quite perfect to me!! 😉 xoxo
Allie G smith says
My husband loves that Chris Stapleton song. I’m a big fat crybaby, so I’m impressed that you can hold it together. And I’m with you…A big fat NO to skydiving!
Janine says
Allie, I love that song and lost count how many times I have now listened to it. As for crying, I did way more in my younger days that is for sure. And skydiving…hell to the NO!!! 😉
Tamara says
Disney is the answer to everything! By the way, how was Boss Baby?
And I admire you for doing all the questions. I had to chicken out of some of them. They were too hard!
Janine says
Boss Baby was a really good and emotional movie, too. And I couldn’t resist all 30, but then again next time I may not be up to it either. Who knows 😉
Jen says
I love posts like these!!
Did you like Boss Baby? I am wondering if that is a theater or a Red Box kind of deal?
Yes on ghosts. I can tell you stories girl… Maybe you don’t want to hear them, but they are real! We call them spirits around here. We have become pretty friendly since it seems to be a recurring thing in our life.
Did I mention I am craving pistachios…..
Janine says
I loved Boss Baby and would totally recommend. And sounds like we could trade spirit stories. Oh and I am with you on those pistachios, too!! 🙂
Nellie says
This was so much fun!! I would absolutely love to see what my kids would do when I’m not there! And absolutely yes to a Disney celebration trip!!
