With the holiday season fully upon us, I can tell you first hand I am familiar with stress and more.
Last week, I can attest that I was most definitely feeling the holiday burn. I was even a bit more quiet here than usual, because of it. No excuses just is what it is, I suppose.
But as I am trying to dig my way out of the holiday craziness myself, I thought I would gladly share some ways that are helping me make my life simpler during the holidays now.
So, take a look at my 4 surefire tips to simplify and ease your stress during the holidays…
1. Fake It until you make it with a fake tree.
OK, I know many have real Christmas trees each year, but having a fake tree can save you time from having to pick out the perfect tree annually, as well as cost, too.
2. When in doubt shop online sales for gifting options.
I am a firm believer in shopping online on Black Friday, Cyber Monday and even throughout the month of December. First, online shopping is truly so easy and convenient. But secondly, being able to take advantage of sales online is a double score to me, as you can also save time and money with shopping, as well.
3. Get creative and make your own gift tags.
Instead of spending money on gift tags, you can use programs, such as PicMonkey or even Canva to help make your own gift tag printables. However, if you are short on time or just not sure how to make them, you can always download my free printable gift tags here. This will not only save you money, but time, too!
4. Go ahead and serve store bought desserts.
See holiday dessert time can be stressful enough. Baking cookies, pies and more can also be time consuming, as well as costly. But you can always look to Baskin-Robbins for the perfect store bought alternatives. I mean who doesn’t like ice cream for dessert?
Right now, Baskin-Robbins has two delicious holiday-themed desserts which are absolutely perfect for any family or friend celebration this upcoming holiday season.
The first is the Ganache Poinsettia Cake. This 9” round cake is not only elegant, but also decadent. Why? Because it is topped with a simple, but beautiful poinsettia with Winter OREO® Cookies.
The second is the Peppermint & Winter OREO® Cookies Polar Pizza. This polar pizza has a double fudge brownie crust with Peppermint ice cream, topped with Winter OREO® Cookie Pieces and drizzled with marshmallow and fudge topping.
How much more festive, tastier and easier could it get? Well, now it happens to be even easier, because both can be pre-ordered in-store, over the phone or ONLINE at www.baskinrobbins.com/onlineordering. Just make sure to order at least 24 hours before you want to pickup.
Yes, you don’t even have to go into the store to place your order. You can simply order online!
An added bonus is all during the holiday season for a simple dessert treat any night of the week, you can also opt for a cup or cone of ice cream in Peppermint Bark in the Dark, because its Baskin-Robbins’ December Flavor of the Month. You will want to try this one before the holidays are over, because it combines crunchy peppermint bark, as well as their creamy Chocolate ice cream all wrapped together with a peppermint candy and white chocolate flavored ribbon.
Plus, right now shop online or in store at any Baskin-Robbins and use the coupon below to receive $2 off any Polar Pizza purchase.
So there you have four simple ways to help simplify and make your holidays a little less stressful.

Those store-baked desserts can be really good, too. Hehe.
And whenever I think of fake Christmas trees, I think of my aunt who always had hers up – year round! At Christmas, she’d always bring it out into the family room, but during the rest of the year, she’d move it into the living room and keep it covered under a plastic bag. It saved a lot of time and money and…a lot of cut trees. I don’t know if she still has it, but yeah, it was a pretty tree, actually. 🙂
Hope your December is going well. 🙂
Janine says
OK, so your aunt totally had a genius idea and seriously if I could hide mine under a plastic bag out of sight and the way, I so would, too! That said good December here so far and hope yours has been treating you well, too 🙂

Our Baskin Robbins closed 🙁 I do agree about simplifying. Take a look at your resources (time, money, talents) and decide how best to allocate them. I had a client who was throwing a party last Saturday night and what she really wanted was for someone else (me!) to do the setup and decorating so that she could work on other things. She felt guilty calling me, but I told her how smart she is. The holidays are to be enjoyed… as much as possible… so prioritize what matters most to you!
Janine says
I agree that your client was very smart and wise to hire you instead of going crazy this time of the year. And I definitely agree about simplifying during this time of they year, as well! 🙂
Kristen Hewitt says

After all these years, I honestly didn’t know that about your son. But loved learning something new here about your family today. And Baskin-Robbins really does have my seal of approval. Happy Monday right back at you once again 🙂

YES LOVE these tips especially because I pretty much do all of them, buy store made desserts, I have a fake tree (that I adore) and DIY’ing gift tags and more! Thank you for sharing these awesome coupons with us!
Janine says
Aw, happy to share and love that we have most of this in common, too Nellie 🙂
Dana says
Baskin Robbins is my all-time favorite ice cream – mint chocolate chip to be exact! My mom always told me that as long as you put store bought food on your own plate, it counts as homemade. 🙂
Janine says
Dana, I think I love the way your mom thinks! Seriously best line I heard and couldn’t agree more with her 🙂
Jennifer Bly says
Yes! Yes! Yes!
We have a fake Christmas tree – I personally love it because it’s less maintenance and we can put it up whenever we feel like it (as opposed to a couple weeks before Christmas).
I LOVE online Christmas shopping! I bought ALL of my husband’s gifts that way!
Those iced desserts look AMAZING! Yum!
Thanks for sharing!
xoxo
Janine says
Thank you Jennifer and I just bought more gifts today online. Seriously the best way to shop. As for the Christmas tree, I have only ever done fake. And seriously so happy to share with you xoxo 🙂
Tamara says
I think store bought desserts are a must! And we had fake trees for many years. The maintenance of the real ones is tough!
Janine says
This is just another example as to why we are truly twins!! 🙂
Jen says
Yes, yes to all of these! I think nothing says I love you more than a calm mom who brings the Baskin Robbins. My kids and family would say dream come true mom 🙂
Janine says
Said perfectly, Jen and definitely couldn’t agree more 🙂

Reasons I love your post. 1)Fellow fake tree holder 2) I love shopping in my PJ’s from home looking for deals 3) I love printables (I fear this may be my new weakness) and love gift tags 4) My kid used to have a weekly date with my mom–her Nana–and it was at Baskin Robbins. Anytime she sees one since we’ve moved via husband in the Army, she always fondly thinks of her special dates there. Cotton Candy #1. We always love their ice cream cakes. And who knew you could order it online???
