Summer may be coming to an end, but it isn’t too late to plan a family getaway for this summer or to plan for next summer.
Summer family vacations are a time to forget all your worries at home, spend quality time with your family, and unplug. Did you know that you can save energy and money at your home while vacationing? With the money you’ll save, you can use it for the perfect summer vacation for your family. If you need some inspiration, check out the following five best East Coast summer family getaway spots.
Disney World, Florida
Disney offers the most family fun you can get for your money. Although Disney may not be the cheapest vacation, you can vacation in Disney World on a budget. Take it from someone who loves Disney: This is the ultimate family summer getaway.
Disney World houses four different amusement parks and two water parks. Also, you can stay on Disney grounds at any of the world-class resorts. Plus, dining is also an experience unto itself, whether at the resorts or parks. Overall, Disney has it all for entertainment and more during your family vacation.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts
You could travel to the Northeast for a beach experience. In my travels, Cape Cod has some of the most gorgeous beaches you will find, and golf or dining on tasty local seafood can make for a fun adult experience. Plus, you’ll find a multitude of kid-friendly activities for the youngsters in your family, too.
Wildwood and Cape May, New Jersey
Cape May and Wildwood are both beach towns in southern New Jersey. These adjacent towns offer many family activities. Cape May happens to be more quaint and quiet with shopping and dining, where Wildwood has a livelier feel with amusement parks and water parks. Both Cape May and Wildwood are fun family vacation spots for adults and kids.
Mystic, Connecticut
This maritime family vacationing spot in northeast Connecticut allows for a historical trip down memory lane. During your travel to the area, you’ll discover the famous Mystic Seaport: The Museum of America and the Sea for a nautical experience. You and your family can also visit the Mystic Aquarium to learn more about the animals that inhabit the ocean. While you’re in Mystic, dine at the famous Mystic Pizza parlor with your family.
Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City, Maryland, is known for unforgettable beach family vacations and its arcades and amusement parks. The destination also has free family activities six nights a week, such as movies, concerts, and parent and children Olympic-style games. You and your family can visit the boardwalk, where you will find restaurants and shops to enjoy.
Even though summer lasts only three short months, it is still a time to enjoy some family fun. All of the above locations are wonderful places to visit with your family during the summer vacation months.
