Still full swing in summer vacation for my girls here. Which of course means much more lax schedules and a lot of outdoor fun time being had.
But even though we are knee deep in summer and outdoor fun here, snacking is something that my girls could make a sport out of still.
So, I try my best to keep snack options in mind during summer vacation for my family.

But how do we keep summer snacking simple, yet fun?
Read on now to find out…
5 Easy Tips for Fun Family Summer Snacking
1. Change your favorite snacks up.
See my girls have their favorite snacks. So do my husband and I. And while I stock up on these snacks quite often. I still try to switch up, as well. This way we never wholly get bored. Lucky for us, our local Walmart carries a full line of snack options from NABISCO. So, I can always count on Walmart to help with this.
2. Only snack when you are hungry.
This one can be a bit harder as my girls can pretty much eat all day long. However, I try to remind them only to eat when they are starving. Because my older daughter, especially tends sometimes to have eyes bigger than her stomach.
She can then possibly overeat. Therefore when this happens, let’s say she is most certainly having fun. So, eating when she is only hungry helps so that she can continue to enjoy and have fun all summer long.
3. Establish consistent meal patterns.
Along with only eating when hungry, eating meals at consistent times of the days helps. Still, I know once again our schedules may not be as regimented in the summertime.
But having breakfast, lunch, and dinner at similar times helps with keeping snacks fun. While still not overdoing it.
4. Plan ahead.
Sometimes we like to change up snacks options at times. But planning and stocking up once again can also help in knowing what snacks we will be enjoying to keep the summer fun coming and ending anytime soon.
5. Hit up the Walmart even to stock up.
Like I have already said, I not only plan. But I also shop at our local Walmart to continue to stock up on all our favorite snacks for all summer and beyond.
We happen to enjoy many of NABISCO’s snacks. Some of our favorites right now are Family Size OREO Cookies, Honey Maid Grahams and even Sour Patch Kids. Family Size OREO comes in a bit larger size packaging. But it is still the classic cookie, which we all know and love. Honey Maid Grahams are perfect to snack on by themselves. Plus, they are also fun to use to make summertime s’mores. Last, but not least Sour Patch Kids that are shaped like a kid. However, these kid shaped candies are yummy and a sweet treat for all.

I maintain a consistent meal and snack regimen at the house, mostly because of my toddler who still has a mid-day nap. And Oreos are a family favorite lol. Great tips
Janine says
Thanks and I totally recall those napping days. That truly did help with consistent meals, as well! 🙂

Janine,
We love NABISCO at my house. I have made so many desserts from cheesecake to no-bake pies this summer using either Nabisco Graham Crackers or Oreos. I love using Oreos because they come in so many different flavors. I made a lemon strawberry dessert a couple of days ago using lemon Oreos. It was fabulous. The lemon Oreos made the perfect crust.
We love all desserts made with Oreos or graham crackers.
Blessings,
Diane

Oreos are the only cookie our son eats. I find that giving him a selection of snacks to serve himself makes him excited and makes him feel in control.

I am with your son on Oreos as I love them still, too. And great idea with giving a selection to make him feel in control, too 🙂
