“Mommy’s baby.”
Even though my baby turns 5 years old this Monday, she still pretty much states this daily to me.
My response is pretty simple and straight forward by telling her, “Yes, you are my baby still. Even when you are a little old lady with gray hair, you will be my baby. Always!”
But my baby is turning 5, which is a pretty big deal to me. I have been going down memory lane, looking at her baby album, and cannot believe how much she has grown.
She is in kindergarten and has been since September going to school full-time—5 days a week, reading books and even counting to 100.
Even though she clearly doesn’t want to give up the baby in my life role, make no mistake she is very excited about turning 5 now.
So makes sense that her upcoming birthday is all she has been talking since our summertime trip to Disney World. See when we were asked if we were celebrating anything special at Disney this past August, she wished it were her birthday. And now for months since this, she keeps saying she just can’t wait to celebrate.
Well, celebrate she will with a Frozen (yes she still loves the two forever sisters) baking party next weekend. Once again going to Disney World, only made Frozen, Elsa, Anna, Olaf and the gang that much more beloved and special to her.
So that is what my baby requesting and what she is getting.
[Tweet “My baby turns 5 next week!! Happy Birthday to her!!!!”]
Still to celebrate on my site, I wanted to share some of my baby’s favorites at age 5:
1. Favorite Color:
Pink!
This past spring, she slipped and unfortunately broke her tiny, little wrist. As I upset as I was, she was a trooper and when asked what color her cast had to be, she didn’t hesitate to tell the doctor that it had to be pink.
Yup, she is so my daughter and carrying on the pink girl tradition perfectly.
2. Favorite Movie:
Frozen almost 2 plus years later and once again she got to meet her idols Elsa and Anna at Disney and even got a Bibbidi Bobbed Boutique makeover to become Elsa for when she also later dined with Cinderella at her famous Castle.
So makes sense, she still crooning, “Let It Go”!
3. Favorite TV Show:
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. As much as she loves Frozen, still she has a very special place in her little heart for Mickey.
See this heartfelt crush has not changed from the time she was a year old and now having met the famous mouse this past summer has only made it that much more real for her!
4. Favorite Book:
Pete The Cat I Love My White Shoes – Again, she is totally reading now and this one she begs to read to me so often even I have it committed to memory here!
5. Favorite Song:
Let It Go – Need I say more from my Frozen obsessed Princess!
Second Runner Up: The Soccer Song (First heard at Soccer, so why she calls it the soccer song) Aka Katy Perry’s Roar
Third Runner Up: All About That Bass (Emma Got Her Hooked, Because the Bus Driver Played It for Them). Yet, every time Megan Trainor sings about booties, Lily yells “Eew!” and giggles in her father’s direction as he teases her mercifully about this song and she eats it up with a spoon!
Honorable Mention: Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae
6. Favorite Drink:
Well, it isn’t water as this kid says plain water tastes bad. So, even when I try to give her water, i have to give it a splash of real juice so she will drink it!
7. Favorite Thing She Loves to Do:
Play with her dress up clothes. Only problem came about when she didn’t clean up her dress. Alas she slipped and this is how she broke her wrist that I mentioned above.
8. Favorite Thing to Eat:
She is still a pretty picky eater and yet she does eat school lunch for the most part finally. But her favorite is still peanut butter sandwiches, even after all this time.
9. Favorite Animal:
Dogs specifically our doggy, Elsa is still tops in her book.
10. Favorite Clothes:
She will wear just about anything and unlike food this kid is not picky about her outfits at all. I pretty much can dress her in anything and no complaints here other than the fact that if I actually let her dress herself, she’d look like she got dressed in the dark!
