OK, I confess I may have a slight addiction to all things Rae Dunn lately, especially Rae Dunn Hunting. I started so innocently.
See I am a YouTube Channel creator. So, I watch other YouTube creators who make videos similar to mine. One of these YouTubers posted a video about Rae Dunn hunting. Believe it or not, I never heard of Rae Dunn up to that point.
I watched her video. While I liked the stuff, she had found from her recent shopping trip to Marshall’s I wasn’t immediately sold.
A few weeks later, I went to my local Marshall’s to look at clothes. While I was there, I saw some Rae Dunn mugs. It was before Mother’s Day. So, my Marshall’s had a display at the front of the store on the way to the register area. Placement is everything, I suppose.
But I didn’t buy anything on that trip from Rae Dunn. I didn’t think anything more of it for days in all honesty. But I did think maybe the “Grandma’s Kitchen” canister would be a cute gift for my girls to give my mom for Mother’s Day. So, I went back at some point to see if they had it. They didn’t. And off I went to TJ Maxx and Homegoods, as well.
I found it at TJ Maxx. But somewhere all the way, I found “Beauty and Beast” mugs. Well, the Disney lover in me had to have those mugs. So, yes, I bought them. And then slowly, I began to look for more Disney-related. But didn’t find anything else locally. I also bought “Beach Bum” Pillows as I was decorating my bedroom for summertime, as well.
I found myself hunting for Rae Dunn all the same. Now, I have more than a few pieces. Mostly stuff I just liked. But a few pieces that would be considered harder to find. And I am still hooked.
If you know anything about Rae Dunn, then you know part of the fun is the hunt. But if you don’t, read on to find out more hunting tips for newbies from this relative newbie.
6 Rae Dunn Hunting Tips for Those New to Rae Dunn
1. Buy what you like.
This first piece of advice is probably the most important. Because with Rae Dunn, you can get addicted very quickly. Take from someone who knows. And that means you may get sucked into buying things that others would say is hard to find or worth something. But honestly, I recommend only buying what you can use and decorate your home to your style with for Rae Dunn stuff.
2. Join Facebook Buy/Sell Groups.
If you are looking for more Rae Dunn Items, joining Facebook groups both locally and country-wide is the way to go. These groups showcase what products are not only current but released in the past, as well. If they are local groups, they also can tell you where to find certain items. Moreover, these local and national groups are fantastic for not only buying items you want but can’t find, but trading, as well.
3 Watch YouTube for Inspiration.
Stuck in a decorating rut? Then, watch YouTube videos for Rae Dunn decorating ideas. Yes, they are some Rae Dunn videos for just strictly shopping hauls, which to be honest, are also fun to watch to see what is indeed circulating in the stores all over the country. But those that are indeed strictly for decorating are great to get more ideas than you may have yourself.
4. Also, Use Pinterest for more ideas.
If you don’t find it on YouTube, Pinterest is also an excellent place for Rae Dunn decorating inspiration, as well.
Honestly, some of the best decorating ideas with Rae Dunn can be found on Pinterest for all the different seasons all year long.
5. Use Mercari and Depop for market values.
I am not going to lie; sometimes, I will break Rule #1 and want to buy things even if I don’t love them. The reason for doing so is to have so great trade options. Again, some items aren’t easy to find in local stores. But let’s say you find a hard-to-find item in your store by searching on Mercari and Depop, you can indeed confirm the going rate to be correct. Thus, you can buy the item and leverage it for trading to get your wishlist Rae Dunn item.
6. Etsy helps for reasonable decor items.
Often decorating with Rae Dunn, you need to find other seasonably appropriate decorations to go along with it. I happen to have a Hobby Lobby near me. But quite often, I would instead search from the comfort of my own home online to find that right piece to accent my Rae Dunn collection. So that is where Etsy comes into play. Because on Etsy you can support creators alike and get exceptional items to help compliment your Rae Dunn decorating. Such as for signs or even decals for Rae Dunn Lovers.
