This might be a bold statement but here goes: Every man in the world has experienced when their underwear just doesn’t fit quite right. Which can be quite tragic, to say the least. Not only can it be a fashion faux pas, with the legs of boxer briefs having the potential of rolling up or improperly worn boxers giving the wearer an uninvited wedgie, but it could also be quite unhygienic as bad fits could lead directly to acne, chafing and just overall discomfort.
Underwear achieving comfort and style at same time is the whole reason why most people buying either boxers, briefs or the combined amalgamation boxer-briefs take their painstaking time before deciding to make their choice of undergarments.
Even the material used in the making of the underwear worn could lead to fit problems among other issues. Men should want to avoid wearing underwear that’s made with polyamide or a majority percentage of polyester. Reason being is that polyamide is known for poor breathability which can lead to acne and chafing in men where polyester holds an odor even after multiple washes.
In fact, people should avoid purchasing and subsequently wearing cheap underwear altogether. Which polyester or polyamide underwear often is. Cheap underwear is made from inferior materials so it wears out quickly and doesn’t breathe. Poorly cut, cheap briefs, boxers, or boxer briefs are almost always uncomfortable and offer little to recommend themselves in the category of style as well. Retailers that specialize in selling quality underwear often have a much larger selection of colors, cuts, and styles to choose from. If a style is important then it may be worth the extra money.
In fact, the best underwear for men is paired with a snug fit that isn’t skin tight against the body, doesn’t overstretch when they are put on, and subsequently provides great support so that the crotch can be comfortably filled and move with the person instead of flopping around with every step.
That flopping around, of someone’s manhood, is a clear indicator of a less-than-ideal fit on a man wearing underwear. That being said there are other, somewhat clearer, signs that a pair of underwear just does not match the wearer’s body type. Because of this, we took the time to explore a few of these signs and what to do when they are seen, or experienced, by the wearer or someone close to them.
What Are The Signs That A Man’s Underwear Is Just Not Fitting?
- Skin Rubbing – Dealing with inflamed skin is unpleasant, especially around a person’s more sensitive areas. If the skin is rubbing together then there will be problems. The underwear is either too big, too old, or poorly designed.
- Sagging – If underwear begins to drop then it’s time to trade up (or down, as indicated by size charts.) Good underwear is supposed to stay in place all day.
- Skin Bulges – It stands to reason that if underwear begins to sag then that is caused by the elastic waistband being worn out or being too relaxed. But if the opposite occurs and the waistband, or the entire underwear, is too tight then it could lead to skin bulges over at the waistband or thighs or leave impressions on the skin.
- Heartburn – As strange as it may seem, wearing underwear incorrectly could manifest some concerning signals directly from a person’s body. Too tight underwear could compress the stomach and cause acid reflux into the esophagus, which leads to heartburn. Wearing underwear that is too tight could also decrease blood circulation in the upper thigh area, resulting in irritation, tingling, or numbness.
- Riding Up – When elastic leg bands are not tight enough, then that could be what is preventing a man’s underwear from staying anchored. A person just has to find ones that fit them – properly fitting underwear should never ride up.
- Difficulty Putting Underwear On – If someone finds it difficult to easily get their legs in the leg holes of an article of underwear and comfortably pull them up to the correct position then that means it is an ill fit and needs to be changed.
- Unable To Get Full Range of Motion – If there are any difficulties moving about while wearing a piece of underwear then should seek out a new, better-fitting pair as soon as possible.
- Confinement of Private Parts – Special care or attention should be given to the front pouch of men’s underwear. The question is if a person should go for a pouch or not, if they don’t then their parts might be squashed flat, which is fine if there is a struggle to find a pouch that fits their package. If the pouch is chosen but it’s too small then there will be a gap where the material should be flush against the groin. Different styles and brands have different sizes of pouches so that can help to get the right fit. A person should want enough room for everything in there to breathe and feel supported. What no one wants is for their package to feel crushed.
