Almost 4th of July Wrap-Up

Filed Under: J9 Designs, Married Life, Writing/Blogging Tagged With: Affiliates, Giveaways, Thankful Things

Back at Saturday again folks and this Saturday it is almost the 4th of July.  Seems like I blinked on Monday and somehow here we are!  Another great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.

I am again adding my ten thankful things from the week here to the Ten Things of Thankful.

Ten Things of Thankful
  1. It is almost the 4th of July, which means barbecues and some much needed time off for a few days.
  2. Having had a wonderful time with Kevin and our girls this past week, which included some sprinkler fun in the heat.

    Summer Sprinkler Fun!!

  3. Another week without any kids sick (I think this is a record around here).
  4. Even though my kids seem to be giving up naps that if I put on one of their cartoon shows or movies, they will sit for the hour and let mommy get some blogging work done.
  5. My design company, J9 Designs, taking off a bit and getting more jobs the past few weeks (seriously I feel so blessed right now by all the wonderful support and clients I have gained, such as Karen from Dinosaur Hero Mommy).
  6. Sunday night getting to watch The Food Network Star, HGTV’s Design Star and Trueblood, too.
  7. Kevin and I actually getting alone time to enjoy #6 together.
  8. Kevin giving me his extra external hard-drive to backup all my important files on my MacBook that was making my computer run a bit slower lately.
  9. Going out to dinner with Kevin and our girls on Saturday night to Outback Steakhouse (had a $25 gift-card to use).  Not only did we have a delicious dinner, but also yummy mixed drinks.  Plus, we were complimented on how well behaved the girls were during dinner by absolute strangers.  For my monsters, who have made going out to dinner, less then pleasurable this was a feat unto itself!!

Outback Steakhouse New Key Lime ‘Rita!!

  10. Again having not much on tap for this sunny, warm Saturday.  The day is pretty much ours for the asking.  and can’t wait to see how it unfolds now!!

Now since it is Saturday onto this week’s recap for those who are catching up or missed a moment of it and some exciting offers, as well!!

Time to Confess!!

Time to Confess!!

On Monday, Jenny Adams graciously guest posted and shared all about her ventures with Origami Owl as well as offered a $25 gift-card raffle giveaway, for more on this or to enter the rafflecopter contest, click here.

On Tuesday, Missy Pitney shared in my second amazing guest post of the week all about this summer’s hottest water toys for kids. Click here to find out all about this.

On Wednesday, I posted twice. First was to share my tutorial that I shared on J9 Designs for showing summaries on blog front pages instead of full text and to read more, click here. The second was to share some great affiliate deals, steals and contests, too.  To see this post, go here.

On Thursday, I did my very first Vlog to linkup with my wonderful bloggy friends, Janene and Christine over at More Than Mommies, click to view it if you haven’t or want to see it again, here.

On Friday, yet another Finish the Sentence Friday linkup went live with the sentence to finish being, “The best fourth of July I had was…”. To linkup if you haven’t or just to find out about my best 4th of July, as well as what others had to say, click here.

And now that another weekend is indeed upon us, I hope you too have a wonderful, fun weekend.

Also for the upcoming week, with more Flashback Wednesday action and keep in mind that Finish the Sentence Friday will NOT be happening due to the 4th of July, we are taking the week off, but for the following week’s sentence (7/12), click here!!

And don’t forget the amazing deal from Stella & Dot, if you haven’t taken a look already, which ends on Sunday, click below.

OMG…isn't it great when the kids behave and you get compliments…you're almost like what in the hell did we do and how can we do it again? LOL

Sounds like a perfect Sunday night. I still need to catch up on a few shows.

That does look like a yummy meal and drink…Dino was pretty good out at dinner last night…but he's just so loud and I think he always will be, OOOOPS.

      June 29, 2013 at 8:42 am

I know Karen, I was so shocked, but it was so nice to hear that others thought they were well behaved. And I am so hoping to have a repeat this Sunday night, because it was truly that nice and relaxing to catch up and unplug for a bit. And no worries my kids are loud, when you put them together, too lol!! 🙂

    June 29, 2013 at 10:54 am

Ahh, the life of a writer. The 4th will just be another work day for me, ten hours at the computer. Maybe we will barbecue in the evening but I don't know for sure……for sure the fireworks will keep us up late so that Friday we will be dragging from lack of sleep. All in all I'd much rather have the 4th land on a weekend. 🙂

    Have a great day, Janine.

      June 29, 2013 at 11:03 am

Bill, I hear you and hope you do get to enjoy some of the day, especially the barbecue and evening time. I have Kevin off from Thursday through Monday. And then every week after he will be home on Mondays. So, I am going to try to enjoy the long weekend as much as can for how busy and how much work I have been doing all year so far. Have a great weekend now and thanks as always my friend!! 🙂

THAT DRINK! Was it a drink really, or a pudding?! Scrumptious. Thank you so much for joining in – I love reading your Things.

Oh thank you so much Lizzi and I was so very happy to help Karen with transferring her site and designing it, too!! And the sprinkler was fun and today looks like pool at my in-laws so that should be equally fine. And the drink was a frozen one and so yummy!! Thank you again for hosting!! 🙂

Oh how I love a good frozen drink! Yum.
We haven't had enough warm weather to get the sprinkler out yet. Hopefully we can this week. (Not that I'm looking for ridiculously hot like last summer!)
My husband and I watch the Next Food Network Star each Sunday, too. Great show.
It makes me happy to see small businesses take off. Here's to J9 Designs getting even bigger.

Oh, I SO wished we had nicer weather. I'm seriously sitting here in jeans and a sweater. It's somewhere in the 50s, that's not normal. We had a little heat wave with 90+ temps a week ago; Mr. Daddy got cheers and much love from the girls for buying them a pool, which is sitting on the porch un-used for about 10 days now. Come on, Germany!!

Seems like you had another nice week! I love those photos of the girls playing in the sprinkler. We were just outside this afternoon with Sofia in her pool and water table…and with some new water toys, she had a blast! And it was nice to sit outside and get some sun, too. That's great that the girls can be entertained for a bit so you can get work done. I do most of my blogging while Sofia sleeps and even other times during the day, she's pretty good at playing nicely so I can catch up on things too.

Same here today. We were outdoors all day. And the girls were at Kevin's parents in the pool. I am so loving this weather and wish it would be like this all year long! And I am with you on getting work done while the girls nap (well, Lily does and Emma plays nicely by herself). I also get a lot done int he evening when they both sleep. I think we just have to make hay as the sun shines for stuff like this!! 🙂 xoxo!!

How well I remember the joys of playing in the sprinkler on a warm summer day… sheer refreshing magic! And yes, nothing is more blessed that a little Mom and Dad alone time, and even a family dinner out where everyone is in best form! Sounds like you had a pretty great week, wishing you another one coming up!

The sprinkler photo is excellent – pure summer joy. And that drink~ YUM. I, too, am thankful for Trueblood (love that show!!) and for getting a few moments each week with my husband to watch it. I'm happy to read that your business is doing well too, Janine – that's so great! And Dino's site looks awesome. Here's to being thankful!

Nice to know I am not the only one who loves Trueblood. Totally obsessed with the character of Eric, lol!! 🙂 🙂
