Alphabet Anatomy: Sponsor of The Month

Funny how things sometimes just happen for a reason. I had just recently wrote about Emma learning how to write her letters, when I woke up the other morning to find I had a new sponsor for my site. I went to check out the ad I had to approve and found the name of my newest Monthly sponsor to be Alphabet Anatomy: Meet the Capital Letters. I honestly wasn’t familiar with this company at all. So the first thing I did was to check out the Website and Facebook page, too.

It turns out that Alphabet Anatomy is the title of a book that is written by Linda Ann Jones. I did a bit more research to find out it is a children’s book that teaches the letters and their attributes, such as the sounds associated with them, recognition of the actual letters and even how to write the letters, which is all also known as the anatomy. The book sounded like a magical journey for young kids just starting out with indeed learning their letters through an awesome visual context that Ms. Jone created in the book’s world that kids could navigate their way through. Here is an example of just one of the one of the letters and how she goes about describing the the letter “E” (for my Emma, who constantly talking about this letter):

Eccentric and energetic, she regularly exhibits extravagant embellishments upon her person and enjoys the attention she seems to elicit everywhere. She is especially fond of emeralds. Her extra extremity enables her to complete tasks in an exceptionally expedient manner. As such, she emphasizes her unique and effortless ability to extend a helping hand whenever needed. Each year, she endeavors to expand her renowned Easter egg extravaganza, and her enthusiasm is quite entertaining. What are some ways that you can lend a helping hand to someone?

I know I had just published a post this past week on how I wanted to help Emma more as she was indeed learning how to write the letters of the alphabet. So, this was not only a wonderful coincidence, but truly fortuitous and pretty amazing to me that this would fall into my lap, so to speak. The further on I read, the more I not only was fascinated by the book itself, but by the author who wrote this book. Linda Jones is a mother, who happened to create this book as a teaching tool for her young son, she never even thought about publishing it at that point, but a few years went by and this collection was found again by her. She dusted it off and was told by her local library that this was awesome find and help to others who may have youngsters who were struggling and need help in this arena. This gave her the inspiration to try publishing it and even got her 16 year old son, who the book’s collection was written to help in the past, actually illustrate it. Talk about a talented family with a mother, who is a writer and a son, who is an artist.

    Well done on the new sponsor!! Look at you! 🙂 I enjoyed the little exert you posted from the book, sounds like a very cool series. I'd love for my kids to one day read things like this, and sure Lily and Emma will enjoy them too!
