Back at Saturday again folks and this Saturday, the girls are again playing soccer this morning. We have a ton on tap with Kevin being home through Monday and pretty sure we will find some more fun activities to engage in. However, it seems like I blinked earlier in the week and somehow here we are again back at the weekend! Another great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.
Once again, I am adding my ten thankful things from the week here to the Ten Things of Thankful.
1. Being able to spend a bit more time with Lily last Saturday morning at soccer, while she played, because Emma really is coming into her own with the sport with having so much fun telling us she can do it herself!!
2. Even though it was a bit chilly for being able to go the beach at night this past weekend to introduce the girls to their first ever game of miniature golf!!
Beach Mini Golfing!!
3. A welcome treat arriving for us to try out and sample for an upcoming blog featured post–stay tuned!
Coffee Bean Direct Shipment4. Had a few cooler days, but that hasn’t stopped us from enjoying it and even setting up a future first time trip before this summer indeed ends to Splish Splash, our local water park!!
5. Taking the girls on a weekend afternoon trip to a local old time village shoppes including candy, ice cream and bakery shop, too!
Fun Times at Millerage Inn!6. That my dad didn’t needs stents put into his heart after having an angiogram this past Monday to access this very notion after having suffered a major heart attack over the course of the last year.
7. On that same note, thank god for medicine to control my dad’s heart problem issues for the time being.
8. For mouse traps being invented, because yes my girls have quite the obsession with Mickey Mouse, but unfortunately our little furry creature friend is definitely not Mickey Mouse and does not belong as a permanent visitor in our home now. And a side note, thankful for wonderful friends, such as our friend Matt who came over late at night to help us try to find and catch said mouse.
9. Wonderful clients/friends over at J9 Designs who wrote up lovely testimonials for my newest page addition over on my design site. Thank you!!
10. For an amazing surprise from my friend/client, Carol from Carol’s Astrology. Honestly loved this picture and writeup of my family’s astrology!!

Thanks so much Lizzi. I just snap away all week long and use the best from my 1 Snap a Day photos. I love that I can use them here and showcase them a bit more. So, I have to thank you for that, because you hop allows me to put this altogether so nicely and it really puts a huge smile on my face when I see it all come together here at the end of the week!! My pleasure in linking up and heading back to your site in a moment to do just that!! You really have the best weekend hop and so much fun for me!! 🙂

It's been a little bit cooler here, too. Mini golf is fun – my boys love it. We have some indoor, glow in the dark places near us that they like better than the outside ones.

Oh those sound so much fun and definitely would have been warmer then what we experienced last weekend. It was downright chilly by 8:30 and even with a sweatshirt, I was still cold. But the kids had fun and that was all that mattered!!

Another great read Janine and here's wishing you a wonderful weekend. The sun is shining here so am going to catch that fresh air in a moment.

Ah, a stent is sometimes better than not having one. I still have times when I know mine is present, even though the doctor thinks I'm crazy. Still, if it was not there, I wouldn't be here. Soccer, already … wow, how quickly they grow! Have a great weekend!
Janine Huldie says
Rich, I have no comparison to make never having really known anyone before now that had, but I will totally take your word for it. And as for soccer, I know I just can't believe how they are frowing up right before my eyes!! 🙂
NuggetOnABudget says
I love reading your 10 Things of Thankful each week…makes me think of those things that I'm thankful for recently, too. I'm so happy to hear that your dad is doing well after his heart attack and that he didn't need the stents. My dad had a heart attack a few years ago and I'm thankful that he's doing so well now. His doctor said that it's almost as if he didn't have one, and the whole ordeal made him turn to a healthier lifestyle. So fun that you could take the girls mini golfing at the beach {the best!} and that Emma is such a natural at soccer. It must be fun to be getting into so many activities with them now! And I love that astrology chart…so cool. Happy for you that J9 Designs is doing so well, also! Great week all around 🙂 xoxo
My recent post bucket lists and such.
Janine Huldie says
Thanks so much Kera and another thing we have in common, because the doctor pretty much told my dad the same thing and apparently his heart even made some new pathways. Got figure!! But so happy that it is the weekend and here is to more fun with our families now, too!! Hoping you are enjoying yours so far, as well!! 🙂 xoxo!!
NuggetOnABudget says
Definitely more fun with our families this weekend here, too! We have my nephew's 1st birthday party this afternoon and Sofia loves playing with her cousins {and they have a pool} so it should be nice. Hope you Kevin and the girls have a great day as well!
Janine Huldie says
Oh so happy to here and Happy 1st Birthday to your nephew!! And now if the rain would clear out of here I would be that much happier. And wishing you a wonderful rest of the weekend now, too!! 🙂

I, too, am so grateful for modern medicine. In one year, my mom had to have 2 stents put in, and also went through treatment for cervical cancer. That was two years ago, and today, no one would ever know that she had ever been sick.
Thank you so much for linking up and supporting the hop!

Christine, I am so glad to hear that you mom is doing well after going through both of those ordeals. Just scary to see our parents have certain things wrong with them as they age and like you I am just grateful that my dad is holding his own and doing better now. And thank you as always for co-hosting. Totally my pleasure as always to link up!! 🙂

I had to go back and make sure I read everything because I got caught up at candy, bakery shops and ice cream! Sounds like a full week of living – of all kinds! Our weeks always seem so full and so much to be thankful of. My grandmother is nearly 100 and she is still such a rebel. She lives in a little B&B type retirement home and she didn't listen to her nurses and climbed the stairs without telling them, and she now has one broken ankle and one sprained ankle. And she's still totally cracking jokes and living life. I love that. She brings so much stress and so much inspiration. Plus there's my kids – so much stress and so much fun and love. Ah, life.
My recent post Ladies Only Blog Share Link Party: How Does Your Garden Grow?
Janine Huldie says
I know I jam a lot in one post to recap, but I love being able to share all our doings. So much of it happens on our weekends, since my husband takes off on Mondays for the summer through Labor Day. The rest of the week is me catching up and designing, as well. I am impressed by your grandmother. Mine passed away over 3 years ago, but she too was an inspiration up until her last few weeks and her dad (my great-grandfather) lived to be 103 years old and was with it until about a week before he passed away. So, I can totally relate and just loved knowing that they did live such full and amazing lives. Only hope to make it to that point with all my senses when I get there someday. Thanks as always and hoping you are having a great weekend now!! 🙂

Our favorite time to go to the beach is at 6pm and stay while the sun is not high – there's something magical about that time of day, especially at the beach. Mini golf sounds like a blast and thank you for the really great photos!

Thanks so much Kristi for co-hosting and must say I do agree that time in the evening on the beach is quite magical. Really can't explain it either, but i just is!! 🙂

You are a busy lady Janine…you put me to shame:). I have to comment that our weather has been really oddly cool – the coolest July I've ever seen. It is great for being out of doors with the kids but sadly, my kids seem to have much better things to do these days than hang out with me. Lol. Enjoy it while it lasts little mama:)
Janine Huldie says
I know the weather truly has been crazy and much cooler then it usually is for July and August now. Even today it is just seasonably cooler for some reason. And I just got to keep moving I suppose and seriously just who I am, but know you too are similar and can relate!! 🙂
Dyanne@IWantBacksies says
Glad your dad didn't need stents, although those go in pretty easily. It's amazing what can be done with medicine and mildly invasive procedures to make us live better and longer!
I think mini golf with kids is fun, but I think the rule should be that you play the same number of holes that your child is old. A mini golfer who has grown bored is a killjoy.
My recent post SWIFT-ly Posting This Week's Ten Things Of Thankful
Janine Huldie says
I know Dyanne, it is truly amazing what can be done nowadays without invasive procedures and medicine. And for my dad just so happy this is the case. And you are so right also about mini golfing, I think 4 holes would have been more then enough for my girls. They loved it, but about half way in did get bored!!
