Up until the second week of April and still the weather was not warming up and mother nature didn’t seem to get the message that it is Spring (not Winter) here on Long Island in New York. I can count on one hand, how many days we have had where the temperatures have even gotten close to 60 degrees. This past weekend alone it was not even 50 degrees and windy, yet again. Honestly was so ready to scream or possibly blow raspberries just like Archie Bunker did way back when.
Last week, it actually was still only 45 degrees and you guess it windy too (yes I hate the wind after the infamous Hurricane Sandy). This particular morning, I woke up to find that our power was out. Someone decided to drive their car into the electrical pole around the corner from us that our power originates from.
The power apparently had gone out around 4:30 am and didn’t return until around 1 pm. It would have been fine if the weather would have gotten the aforementioned memo about it being Spring, but no such luck and by the time we did get the power back the house was registering 65 chilly degrees (We were all freezing). That experience alone has left me just desperate for warmer weather and nicer days now.
I went through my pictures for today’s Flashback Wednesday and came up with this picture of Lily over 2 years ago, when she was about 6 months old. She apparently had learned to blow raspberries (my father taught her this gem!). And I caught her with the camera doing just that.
I thought immediately this would be a perfect sentiment as to how I feel towards the weather right about now. So, here she is in all her glory!!
By the way, it did actually warm up yesterday and was 80 degrees (convinced it did, because I had written and scheduled this!). So it literally went from 45 degrees to 80 degrees over night. I am not complaining about the 80 degrees in the least (being my favorite type of weather), but I am definitely not a fan of 45 degrees and windy. So, for that the raspberries will still blown by Ms. Lily, because I am sure it will be cold again in a day or two!!
I couldn’t resist and seriously how could anyone stay upset after seeing that cute little mug!! Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!!
