I, as well as my husband and kids, truly enjoy lighter meal options. This includes smoothies for breakfast, lunch and even dessert time.
So, I am constantly trying new smoothies recipes. And pretty sure I will be sharing a few more of the course of the next few months here as I add to my family’s smoothie list.
The first up right now is one that is for blueberry muffin fans. All of my family, even the picky eater loves blueberry muffins. I mean blueberry muffins are seriously just a classic muffin recipe type. So, we decided to try blueberry muffins in smoothie form.
See this smoothie recipe is pretty simple. Plus, the ingredients are easily found in your local grocery store. Or if you belong to Amazon Fresh Pantry these can be found there, too.
The simple Blueberry Muffin Smoothie ingredients include Greek Yogurt, frozen blueberries, bananas, steel cut oats and a touch of cinnamon for that added sweetness factor.
Blend all together and voila! See so very easy and truly a contender for a favorite summer time smoothie treat if you ask me!

I never thought to freeze the yogurt for a thicker smoothie!! I can’t wait to try this, blueberry is one of my favorite flavors!

I love freezing the yogurt as it makes for an even colder smoothie experience int he warmer, summer weather. Which I am seriously hoping here in our neck of the woods finds us for awhile now!

Thank you for the recipe it looks yummy. One question however, I am Celiac and finding steel cut oats are hard to come by that are Certified GF. Would it be possible to use GF rolled oats? and if so would you also suggest changing the amount? Have you ever tried this with freeze-dried blue berries?
Janine says
My pleasure Lyn. I have never used Certified GF Oats or freeze dried blueberries myself. But can’t see why you could use them here. And if you do use them and they work, please feel free to leave me a comment to let me know, as well π
