Finally we are entering my favorite time of the year. Yes, late spring almost summer time for me is perfection. See we have many warmer days to look forward to. It is light pretty early in the day and stays light into the later evening now.

I, as well as my husband and kids, truly enjoy lighter meal options. This includes smoothies for breakfast, lunch and even dessert time.

The first up right now is one that is for blueberry muffin fans. All of my family, even the picky eater loves blueberry muffins. I mean blueberry muffins are seriously just a classic muffin recipe type. So, we decided to try blueberry muffins in smoothie form.

See this smoothie recipe is pretty simple. Plus, the ingredients are easily found in your local grocery store. Or if you belong to Amazon Fresh Pantry these can be found there, too.

I never thought to freeze the yogurt for a thicker smoothie!! I can’t wait to try this, blueberry is one of my favorite flavors!

    • Janine says

      May 14, 2018 at 9:39 am

I love freezing the yogurt as it makes for an even colder smoothie experience int he warmer, summer weather. Which I am seriously hoping here in our neck of the woods finds us for awhile now!

Thank you for the recipe it looks yummy. One question however, I am Celiac and finding steel cut oats are hard to come by that are Certified GF. Would it be possible to use GF rolled oats? and if so would you also suggest changing the amount? Have you ever tried this with freeze-dried blue berries?

    • Janine says

      May 14, 2018 at 5:07 pm

My pleasure Lyn. I have never used Certified GF Oats or freeze dried blueberries myself. But can’t see why you could use them here. And if you do use them and they work, please feel free to leave me a comment to let me know, as well πŸ™‚

I eat blueberries everyday and this blueberry muffin smoothie is the perfect excuse to eat even more. Spring is a great time of year, cardigan weather is my favorite kind of weather. Who doesn’t love blueberry muffins, all muffins make me very very happy. I love the addition of cinnamon and steel cut oats. Great recipe Janine. I hope you are well.
