A bottle of white, a bottle of red
Perhaps a bottle of rose instead
We’ll get a table near the street
In our old familiar place
You and I-face to faceA bottle of red, a bottle of white
It all depends on your appetite
I’ll meet you any time you want
In our Italian Restaurant.-Scenes from An Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel
Friday afternoon and sometimes I just love what I get in the mail. I mean the bills not so much, but certain items I get to review for my blog that I receive in our mail definitely makes the bills seems a bit more tolerable (just a bit).
This Friday, I received a box that my UPS delivery man jokingly asked if I was over 21 to accept. I knew right away it was the wine, I had agreed to review.
What I didn’t know was that it was four bottles in total, including 2 Chardonnay and also 2 Red Wines from O Wines that truly made me want to sing my best rendition of Billy Joel’s Scene from An Italian Restaurant with thoughts of “A Bottle of White, A Bottle of Red..” You get the idea!
Well, I couldn’t wait to give them a try and not going to lie cracked open the Chardonnay that very evening after a long week of birthday celebrating for Emma, as well as afternoon of (you guessed it) bill paying and what I knew would be an equally long trip into NYC to visit the American Girl Store to further celebrate Emma’s 5th Birthday in style, which would probably include a few of the girls’ favorite meltdowns before all was said and done.
The chardonnay didn’t disappoint and yes later in the weekend also got to try the red wine, which also was very much enjoyed here, as well.
If you don’t believe me please keep reading to find out more now about O Wines and the two different wine blends now below.
O Wines Background
O Wines was established in 2006 in Woodinville, Washington by Stacy Lill and Kathy Johanson with a mission to fund college scholarships for low income, capable young women so they can achieve their greatest potential through education. Each purchase helps send young women to college through the O Wines Opportunity for Success Scholarship program.
Since the introduction of the wines to the Pacific Northwest in 2008 followed by a nationwide launch in 2013, more than $300,000 has been raised to support 52 college scholarships. Beginning in 2013 each scholarship is $20,000 given in $5,000 increments annually over 4 years. Most of the scholarship recipients are the first members of their families to attend college.

It started about sixty miles from where I live. I’ve actually heard of this wine and it seems like I saw a news story on it. Needless to say, I’ve never tasted it. 🙂 Have a great weekend.

Hi Janine! Great minds…I also thought of that song with the wine. Can’t wait to try it, especially if it makes the bill-paying easier!

There is nothing better than sitting down after a long hard day and uncorking a nice bottle of wine. I am partial to reds but during the summer a crisp white is perfect. Thanks for sharing about O Wines. I have never heard of them before so will do some investigating. Have a great weekend.
Blessings,
Shari

Red wine is my absolute favorite and what do you know…this one pairs well with a lot of my favorite things to eat these days. To bad it will be about 6 more months before I have any. Thanks for sharing. These look like some really unique flavors for wine for a great price! 🙂
