Here in New York, it is the last full week of school finally! Seriously, while all my friends from the south and west have been out for school for weeks, we have had a crazy June with all the end of the year school stuff for both my girls.
So, much so that I lamented this past Monday morning that as much as the kids were ready for summer vacation, I am even more so. I am done with all the school fanfare, including school lunch/snack preparations, packing backpacks with each day’s needs and homework, too! Ugh, that “H” word is the bane of my existence. You would think as an ex-middle school math teacher; I would be all about the homework. But you’d be wrong as I loathe and despise it more than you know.
That said, I am finally preparing for summer vacation and summer snacks because summer means kids want meals here always. Those who follow my blog know my girls love cupcakes.
So, while I have a few go-to cupcake recipes for this summer, I decided to make a new cupcake treat to celebrate all things summer, outdoors and just plain fun.
That is where my Butterfly Cupcakes come into play. I used premade Funfetti Cupcakes because my girls love these cupcakes the best. I frosted them with vanilla icing.
See how simple that was, and now we have beautifully decorated Butterfly Cupcakes for summer vacation treats fun.
Want to make them, too?
Then, read on below for my easy step-by-step recipe tutorial now.
Butterfly Cupcakes Recipe
- Prepared Funfetti Cupcakes
- White Vanilla Frosting
- Sour Trolli Gummy Worms
- Fruit Slices Chewy Candy
- Brown Jimmies
- Frost each cupcake with the vanilla frosting.
- Cut gummy worms in half so you have two different colors and place 2 brown jimmies in the cut end. The end will be sticky so the jimmies will just stick right in very easily.
- Place 2 fruit slices on the cupcake with a gummy body in between the butterfly. You can mix and match colors or have them all match. Have fun with it!
- Ready to serve and Enjoy!!
