A year ago, this past weekend, we took the girls to the local church carnival. Our church always does this event towards the end of July. In 2009, Emma attended, but she was just days old and truly didn’t remember.
But last year was the very first year that not only did she have some idea what was going on around her, but she had so much fun going on so many of the rides. Below is my favorite picture of her going on one the many rides she indeed rode that night.
You can see in this picture that she is all smiles and seriously over the moon to be there.
And this weekend, we will be attending this very same carnival, so that is why I decided to share a flashback moment from last year in particular a very recent, yearly event for our family.
By the way, Lily was more cautious on the rides last year and that is why I decided to share Emma instead of Lily, because she was truly my dare devil. Not sure much will change this year though, because Lily still is more my cautious child (even on the playground), but I am curious to see if she will go on a few of the rides with Emma, because I have a feeling Emma will be begging her to go on and have fun with her..
I will update you all on this, once we do attend. But for now, please do enjoy last year’s photo of Emma from the carnival.

What a cute picture! I love carnivals. Even if we don't go on rides (which, most of the time, we don't) it's the environment and the scents and the lights that really lures me in. I just love it.

Cute pics! My son is VERY cautious about the rides he will go on! We keeping thinking he will start to enjoy "bigger" rides, but not so far. Maybe I should bribe him! As a parent, I'm not above a bit of bribery! Hope you guys have an amazing time at the Carnival!

Justin, your son sounds like my Lily, she is so very cautious even in the playground, too. Surprisingly though, I think it is more and act for me, because recently she was hanging onto both Kevin and I in my inlaws' pool. When went out to dinner and that very night she went in with Kevin's mom and begin swimming (with swimmies) on her own. So go figure! And thank you as always!! π

How cute! I sure wish our church had some kind of carnival to take Summer to. She loves blow up bouncers, and the last time we attended a carnival they had a toddler-sized one that she fell in love with. Hope you all have a grand time with tons of new photos to share.

I just spent the morning at an amusement park with my 2-year-old. It's so much fun to see them enjoying the rides, isn't it? And it's such a shame my stomach cannot handle it anymore…

Oh I know Dani and seriously my stomach so can't handle these types of rides anymore. I went on the teacups with my niece and nephew (they are 8 years old and 6 years old). They spun that ride and by the end I thought I was going to lose my lunch!!!
Joy says
Super Cutie! It's funny how different siblings can be. I have a very cautious (afraid) 3 yr old and a daredevil, NO FEAR 1 yr old! Same two parents, VERY different kids!
Janine Huldie says
I have the exact opposite and you are right it is truly very interesting to see the differences between the two!!
