Today marks the end of summer vacation for my kids. So technically is over tomorrow. Thus, fall and back to school is on the horizon. With fall always brings the certainty of a few things. See there are many things, I love about Fall. But the biggest is pumpkin spice. I am that girl that finds many different ways to enjoy pumpkin spice, including pumpkin spice pancakes.
Therefore, I include it in my favorite recipes. I also use air freshers/candles with the pumpkin spice scent. I even use soaps or body lotions that smell like pumpkin spice.
What can I say, but pumpkin spice is just a favorite of mine.
So, I promise you that I’ll be sharing more than a few pumpkin spice creations here this upcoming fall on my blog.
The first pumpkin spice themed article today is for chocolate chip pumpkin spice pancakes.
First of all, who doesn’t love pancakes?
Second, how can anyone not like chocolates chips?
Then, add in pumpkin spice! And well, I’d say you got the perfect fall breakfast.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Spice Pancakes Recipe

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Spice Pancakes
A yummy fall favorite pumpkin spice breakfast recipe for the whole family to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice mix
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the dry ingredients together until combined. Set aside. Thoroughly whisk together the wet ingredients for about a minute.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk gently until the ingredients are just combined. (The batter is will be quite thick, you don't need to worry about thinning it out.)
- Heat a griddle (or skillet/frying pan) over medium heat. Spray with cooking spray, oil, or a pat of butter.
- Once preheated, drop about 1/3 cup of batter on the griddle.
- Cook pancakes until the edges start to look dry and the pancakes begin bubbling on the sides, this will take about 1 minute.
- Flip the pancakes and cook the other side until cooked all the way through, this will take about 1 to 2 more minutes.
- Coat frying pan again with butter for the next pancake and repeat the process for each batch of pancakes.

Typically I “flip the switch” once Labor Day is over. I’m having a rougher time this year… I REALLY hate to see summer go. However, I do enjoy the scents and scenes of the fall, and I am pulling out my “pumpkin spice” candle. My girls would have loved these pancakes when they were little.
Janine says
Aw, Seana trust me I am not a fan of switching modes as I love summer so much. But pumpkin spice does help ease me in if nothing else! π

Itβs that time of year again, where everyone loses their minds over pumpkin spice and Iβm one happy girl. Iβve been craving pancakes lately, itβs the strangest things because I donβt eat pancakes often but recently my stomach has been asking for some light and fluffy syrup holders. You add Pumpkin Spice and chocolate chips into the mix how could I say no?
