*I was asked to share some holiday party ideas from Tiny Prints, who I am an affiliate for with my readers.*
Naughty or nice, everyone loves a good party — especially at Christmas. Let’s face Christmas is pretty much a week away now.
And so far we have…
Decorated…
Baked up some meringue cookies this past weekend.
Plus the girls have written and mailed their letters to Santa.
And even met the big man, himself, too!
And yet as much as we have gotten done, I bet many are as stressed as I am right about now fretting the last minute Christmas preparations, but still there is hopefully time for some fun with family and friends.
So as you work to gather RSVPs, cook appetizers and assemble that festive playlist, let somebody else handle the entertainment to give you one less thing to indeed have to concern yourself with.
See there’s nothing better than party games to keep a crowd mingling, but what games should you play?
For inspiration, use this free Christmas Party Games generator. It pulls fun holiday themed activities to keep guests preoccupied and enjoying the evening.
Created by Tiny Prints, you can filter game results based on the type of party you’re hosting and what type of guests will be in attendance. Filtering by “kid friendly” and “high activity” brings up creative games such as Christmas Charades and Santa Limbo so kids can expel their energy while the parents can relax.
Hosting a primarily adults only bash? No one is too old for games! Choosing “just adults” pulls game such as Funniest Christmas Present and Name that Carol, which work as great ice breakers for a diverse and large crowd.
So you have the entertainment down, but what if you’ve been procrastinating on everything else?
I am getting there myself slowly, but surely, but still have so much to do in only a week’s time! Yet, I have to hand it to Tiny Prints for giving me some hints on how to go about this a bit easier now.
Here are some extra tips from Tiny Prints on how to plan for your holiday party:
- It’s not too late to send out a printed invite! If you see your guests regularly, simply carry the stack with you to hand deliver.
- Don’t forget to include contact information on your invite (phone, email or both) so guests can easily RSVP and ask questions about the party.
- Consider the timing of the event based on who will be attending. An afternoon party is probably more appealing to families with kids, while a late dinner soirée brings more adults.
- Schedules too packed to throw a Christmas or New Year’s Eve party? While most are packing up the holiday decor in January and February, host a low key “holiday unwind” party to relax and prepare for the new year ahead.

Hey Girl,
I pray you are having a better evening. My blog was hacked today. Sitelock is fixing it. It just seems like the devil is attaching all of us constantly. Tomorrow, will be a better day and next year will be a great year.
I love seeing your sweet Princesses. I also really love the meringue cookies. I make them every year for Christmas. They just melt in your mouth.
Thanks for being a great friend.
Blessings,
Diane

I’m not much good on this one, Janine. I don’t remember the last time I went to a holiday party, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never held one. 🙂 But I can wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season, so that’s what I’m doing right now. 🙂

I love the cookies!! The girls in front of the mailbox is an awesome picture. And I like your tree. Did it take a long time to get the bows all over the tree? They look great. I like those way better than tinsel or garland.
I laughed when I saw your reply to my WW post today. I thought of your post when I took the picture! Love those stamps!

Cute ideas! We’re not hosting a Christmas party but we are doing a (mostly) annual white elephant exchange on Sunday. I’ll admit, I haven’t thought past the gifts! I’ll have to check out some of those games 😉

And that’s a very good Santa! We mailed the letter too at that same red mailbox (wish it was literally the same one) and today, Scarlet is in NYC! Go visit her!

We actually are having friends over for a holiday dinner for the first time since we’ve been in Germany, and these games actually sound like fun! We’ll definitely keep some of them on hand should we feel like playing something 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Janine!

LOVE the tree! I also picked red and gold as my colors of choice. I love the simplicity of just choosing a couple of colors to accentuate the rest. We STILL haven’t decorated the tree. It’s plain with some lights so far. I hope we get it decorated before the day of!

I love the holiday unwind party idea!

The girls’ picture with Santa turned out so cute! I took Anneliese to the mall just to look at him and she wanted nothing to do with the big guy this year! Your tree skirt is so cute! Did you make it or pick it up somewhere?
Good luck on this last crunch before Christmas! Love the holiday game idea generator tip!

A game generator! That’s so cool! I don’t know a lot of games myself so that’s indeed helpful. We’re all going home to my parents’ house tomorrow and will stay there until January so I’m really excited for the holidays and long vacation. 🙂
