Crescent Mummy Dogs Recipe

A few weeks ago, I was standing online at Stop & Shop before paying for my weekly groceries.  I looked over at the magazine rack. It was then I saw a small paperback book by Pillsbury. See all the recipes in this booklet were for Halloween, including a recipe for Crescent Mummy Dogs.

Supplies Mummy Dogs

This Crescent Mummy Dogs recipe was right on the front cover. So, I flipped to the page that housed the cover recipe. See it was all about hot dogs and crescent rolls. Seriously all things kids like.

And see it looked so easy to make. Plus really cute, too. Also, they were extremely interesting as far as the look of them went.

Cooked Closeup of Mummy Dogs

It was then I knew I needed to make these for Halloween time for my own family.

By the way, I admit I love Halloween.  As much as I complain about Summer ending, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  And I love all the decorating and themed crafts. I also can’t help, but love the recipes for Halloween time.

So, my excitement to make these Crescent Mummy Dogs was on overdrive.

I admit these look delicious, even though I don't eat meat. Can't eat the vegetarian ones either, but that's besides the point! Nice job!!! Also looking forward to getting stuck into making some yummy, sickly sweet (and some savoury this time round) treats next month. 😉

I love Halloween too. I just love the feel of it – the atmosphere. You just reminded me of a great memory. My mom used to make us "Halloweenies" when we were kids on Halloween. It was the pre-trick-or-treating dinner. It was basically cheese-filled hot dogs. So I guess she probably bought them like that? My mom is no butcher so I can't see her making her own hot dogs to fill with cheese.
Either way, I love hot dogs and so does Des. Scarlet doesn't…yet.
    Happy Tuesday!

Tamara, another thing we have in common, because as much as I complain about Summer ending, I do love Halloween. And truly do wait for it all year long. I have had those hot dogs (I think Oscar Meyer makes them) as a kid, but love how your mom made them special for Halloween, because it is memories like this that I hope my kids will hold onto, too. Happy Tuesday to you, too!!! 🙂

As for the hot dogs, I use chicken, turkey, pork combo, but I don't see why you couldn't use chicken dogs instead. Might be something to totally try and if you let me know how they turn out!! 🙂
