It’s been only a few short weeks since I last updated what is Currently going on in my neck of the woods. Still, I am back to share with my readers my Currently February 2019 happenings.
For starters, it is already the third week in February. Valentine’s Day is over and done. But not before my girls attended a school dance with their very special persons. It was supposed to be date style. So they brought my husband and my younger brother. It was a success!
But now almost two months down for 2019. Can’t believe how quickly it is going. My kids are off this week for Winter Break though. Because technically it is still winter.

Not complaining as the winter and my least favorite season is almost done. It has been a milder than usual winter with only one larger snowstorm that occurred back in November before Thanksgiving. That storm technically occurred in late fall.
Last week, we had less than an inch of snow with a coating of ice. That all but melted the following day when temperatures rose back into the high 40s. Yesterday, it snowed here leaving us a few inches. But today, it in the mid 50s, so melting all away. Again not complaining and fingers crossed that March also will follow this pattern. Plus, in March we change the clocks to spring ahead on the weekend of the 10th. Plus, the first day of Spring is only days later the following week.
So there is indeed an end in sight for Old Man Winter now!
But back to my Currently February 2019 Edition. Read on for my Currently February 2019 happenings below.
Currently February 2019 Edition
Loving
Fashion Forward
Back in January, I confessed to enjoying Youtube video viewing of some clothing subscription unboxings. I am still thoroughly viewing similar videos now. Plus, I have been pinning away here on my own Pinterest Board all the current and upcoming trends.
See I always have loved fashion. I even took fashion design classes back in high school years back. Plus, I truly enjoy styling and putting fun outfits together. I know I only work from home, but still love keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
Also in the past, I have reviewed the likes of Stitch Fix, Golden Tote and Le Tote clothing subscriptions on my blog. However, I shied away from making videos on Youtube during these reviews. I admit that there is something about being in front of the camera that makes me more nervous than I can even begin to describe. But I know videos are a huge social advantage right now.
So, I finally caved and made my first Youtube unboxing video for another fashion subscription service. This time out, I tried Trendsend, which is brought to you by Evereve.
Do you want to view my YouTube video? Then, go ahead and check it out below.
And if you would be so kind as to subscribe to the Youtube channel, give me some likes and even comment, I would be ever so grateful. If I see there is a following over there, I am toying with the notion of doing more unboxing videos.
Watching
This Is Us
So primetime TV returned with a vengeance in mid-January after the New Year. So, my Netflix and streaming viewing are down. But I am back to watching network TV. This TV watching includes the acclaimed, This Is Us.
So, far we have been treated to more tear worthy episodes, including Kevin and the siblings trying to save their Uncle Nicky from his own past demons. Plus this week found us welcoming Beth’s ailing mom played by non-other than The Cosby Show mom, Phylicia Rashad!
Will & Grace
While I watch This Is Us for the dramatic moments and always find myself tearing up from it. I can’t help viewing Will & Grace for the laughs. I do find myself tearing up with this show, too. But the tears here are from the non-stop comedy antics of these four! My favorite so far this year is from the episode where Jack and Grace diet together.
The scene where the two are fighting over croutons seriously made me feel as though as was watching I Love Lucy’s Lucy and Ethel up to their latest scheme! Don’t believe me watch the video for yourself. I dare you not to outright laugh when Jack proclaims he is weak, fat, and lazy and America!
Reading
Still very much enjoying Audible. I even have gotten most of my current reads from my local library on ebooks. So, I haven’t spent any money outright to read some Goodreads right now.
This Is How It Always Is
One of my blogging friends I swore read and recommended this one. But I cannot for the life of me remember which one. Plus, this book was another of Reese’s recommendations. So, of course, this one went on my list and anxiously awaited a copy. I only finished reading this one right before Valentine’s Day. I promise to review it myself shortly in a book review roundup on the Blog soon.
The Proposal
Also, a Reese Book Club book. This novel is her current February 2019 pick. So, as I was finishing This Is How It Always Is. My audio copy became available through my library. I only started reading it this past weekend. But, so far very much enjoying. I also promise to give my thoughts soon on this one, as well.
Listening
Midland (Urban CowboyThrowback)
While I work, all that read my blog know I love to stream music. Recently, my husband mentioned that Midland made a video with one of the songs paying homage to one of my all-time favorite movies, Urban Cowboy. I mean what is not to love about any movie back in the day that showcased a young, John Travolta., especially one making him a cowboy hero.
Plus, I happen to love the band Midland. So, this video got me to stream their awesome country album once again.
Eating
Unicorn Treats
Well, Valentine’s Day is way behind us now. But I couldn’t resist creating another fun, family-friendly treat. This one I only shared this past week was inspired by my girls’ love of all things Unicorn. Get the recipe here if you haven’t already.
St Patty’s Day Treats
Also. St. Patty’s Day is almost here. So, we are soon going to be making Leprechaun Fudge, too!
Shamrock Shakes
Of course, drink-wise, we can’t have the holiday go by without enjoying, Shamrock Floats!
Looking Forward
Spring/Warmer Weather
This one goes without saying. As you all know how much I countdowns until my weather and time of the year is actually here. That said, it is a no-brainer that this one made and topped my list.
Disney World – Surprise Spring Solo Trip!!!
Omg, so you are hearing it first on the blog today!! But looks like (fingers crossed) I might be going to Disney at the end of April for a few short days on my own with the EZ Dis Brand as I have been working with them this past year. The trip from what I know so far looks too good to pass up and is for myself and a few others that work with them, as well. I am so very excited and honestly cannot believe all that is included in this trip’s itinerary so far.
So stay tuned as I learn more and able to share more soon here in this space of mine. One issue is that I have never traveled or flown on a plane all by my lonesome. So, I may need some pointers from any of you who have.
Disney Summer – Mickey and Minnieβs Surprise Celebration
The above trip is in less than 70 days time. But upon my return, I get to plan our Fast Passes for our Summer family Disney World trip, which will be around 60 days out. And if that isn’t enough to get me excited over, we are returning in November for the holidays again to Disney. So three trips in one year – I am over the moon!
In case you missed my latest Disney World article, I literally only wrote up about this Disney Parks Celebration. click on the image below for more!
Well, looks like we will get to attend and enjoy events centered around this one in only a few short months this summer. So stay tuned!

I have another blog friend who does the Trendsend box and it does sound like a good one! That’s really sweet that your brother went to the dance with your girls and your husband too.
Janine says
Trendsend so far has been great. I am getting my second box next week and fingers crossed that it will stay that way. But will definitely share it on YouTube when I unbox that one, as well. Also, I agree with you that my brother and husband were a huge success for dance night here π
Meredith Spidel says
Love all of your updates and three cheers for this fab announcement!!
Janine says
Aw, thanks Meredith and was excited to share my newest video and announcement, too here π
William Holland says
What I know about fashion you could fit in a thimble. π It was fun watching your video. As for winter, I have no comment. I’m cold. Enough said.
Your girls are beautiful!
Janine says
Thank you so much for watching, Bill and for all your lovely words about my girls. Here is to it warming up sooner rather than later! π
Tamara says
That is so cute about your brother and your husband taking the girls!! ahhhh! Love this.
And love your video and seeing YOU! I love that they have the mailer so you can make returns easy. I hate going to the mailbox. I’ve never tried seven for mankind jeans and we are twins because I ONLY own/wear skinny jeans. For years now. But whoa – $189..
I have trouble with white pants… Maybe I need to try it sometime? I have hips that don’t lie as well, twinnie!
Janine says
Ode to those hips and trust me I wasn’t sitting in those white pants as it would have told the whole story of overindulging this past winter! That said, $189 for jeans is steep, especially for jeans I didn’t truly love. I plan on making more videos soon and hope you will watch me in those, too. What can I say though, but I love that we are twinsies π
Gloria Spagnoli says
Wow! You did a great job presenting the clothes. I think you are ready for the Big Time! And another trip to Disney on your own! Wow, girl, you are cooking with gas! Very proud of you.
Love always……xxoo
Janine says
Aw, thank you Aunt Gloria and truly had fun videoing the clothes. And still canβt believe about Disney either xoxo π
Cynthia says
Love this post – you on video and hearing your northeastern accent – how fun! Hehe.
And leprechaun fudge? YUM! Ima have to try that.
Let’s see…I can’t believe how fast time is flying by, too. It’s already almost March! And daylight savings ends? WOWZA! Spring is almost here. YIIIPPPPEEEEE!!!
Sending you hugs and wishes for a wonderful week!
Janine says
Aw, thank you Cyndi and had so much fun doing this video. I am going to do many more now, I hope. I am going to try to build up my YouTube channel as I have neglected that for way too long. So, if you could follow me over there, as well I would so love it!! Many more hugs back again and have the most wonderful week ahead, too xoxo <3
Jen says
You are beautiful! Well done. Too scared to make a video. Maybe someday….
Janine says
Aw, thank you, my sweet friend, and am really trying to up my game with video now as I know that it is something that many companies are indeed looking for more. But trust me, I fought it for so long, too. So, if I can do it anyone can π
Jen says
My comment published before I was ready, but hooray and so much fun! By yourself. Kind of a dream!
Janine says
Aw, again thank you!! π
Dana says
How exciting for a possible solo trip to Disney! It will help pass the time until your family one.
I recommended This is How it Always Is – it was one of my faves in 2017, I think. Glad you liked it!
Off to watch your unboxing video – I haven’t tried a styling service but I like watching what other people get:)
Janine says
Dana, my thoughts exactly on the upcoming Disney trip. Not going to lie it will be strange not being there with my family as I have only ever been with them. But still excited. As for This Is How It Always Is, thank you so much for the earlier recommendation and yes did indeed enjoy it. Oh, and I am with you as I love those unboxing videos and is how I ended thinking I wanted to try my own hand at it. Hope you were able to visit and view, as well π
