Pimple popper!! Yes, I am guilty of popping more then my fair share of pimples on my face over the years.
Ironically, I truly didn’t have much acne as a teenager, but developed adult acne in my twenties. It seemed linked to my menstrual cycles and the birth control pill, I was on. Yes, just another thing I get to blame on PMS and hormones (real or synthetic). Most would tell you it wasn’t that bad, but still enough to annoy me and make for interesting cover up moments for me.
Throughout my twenties and even early thirties though, I fought acne monthly. I even went to a dermatologist for a bit, but found the creams he prescribed were drying out my skin more then I would like. So, I stopped going and then I went off the pill to have my children.
When I was off the pill and even pregnant, I got very little acne. But since having both my girls and going back on the pill, I have gotten back the dreaded side effect of acne. It returned quite frankly with a vengeance. And I even have gotten yelled at often enough from Kevin that I was picking my face again. Sorry, it may be a bad habit, but I just couldn’t resist squeezing my pimples. Gross, I know, but still just still had to do this.
And of course, the pimple infected area would not only be a a bump, but quite red and inflamed, too. This would always happen when I would have somewhere to be and I learned the fine art of covering them up as best as I could, but still would have loved to not have to do this at all.
Recently, I was contacted by a representative from Dermagist about trying out their Ultimate Acne System. I honestly jumped at the chance and wanted to see if I could find something to indeed help with my pimple laden face.
The Ultimate Clarifying System for Acne Prone SkinWell, I started using it over, two weeks ago and must say I am quite impressed. The kit (45 Day Supply) contains:
- One Jar of Acne Clarifying Cream (used twice daily)
- One Bottle of Detoxifying Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin (used twice daily)
- One Jar of Acne Scar Fading Cream (begins about two weeks into the program).
The ingredients are all natural and this system targets the acne causing bacteria, but without the horrible side effects of Benzoyl. Plus, Resveratrol is a world renowned anti oxidant with tremendous anti aging benefits. So, the Dermagist Clarifying System for acne-prone Skin targets the acne bacteria, calms and soothes the skin, PLUS has tremendous anti aging benefits.
Also, Dermagist has created this system with the aim to help not only with the acne itself, but with the redness and irritation that make the breakouts look worse and cause permanent scarring. This system, in essence, aims to combat the whole picture.
It really is a wonderful kit and has helped my skin out a great deal in only the short time, I have been using it.
And today, Dermagist is offering a wonderful giveaway to my readers, too. You, too, can win the very same Ultimate Acne System that I have been reviewing and using, too.

Wow, how nice to find a product that really seems to work. That's awesome! Your skin looks great too! Did it dry it out?
Janine Huldie says
Kristi, I didn't dry my skin out at and that really was the major problem I had with the creams the dermatologist prescribed and why I stopped using them. This was totally worth trying and loved it!! 🙂
Cyndi says
Interesting…lol…Have a great day, Janine. 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Cyndi and trust me I know!! 🙂

Well, I have read a blog about pimples….it's now time to get to work. LOL I fought pimples all through the teen years….one of the joys of late middle age is….no pimples. 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Oh you are definitely giving me something to look forward to for sure. And thank you as always, Bill. Have a wonderful day!! 🙂
Christy says
I had acne as a teenager and still do get some pimples. Stress related? lol for me, perhaps. It looks like a good contest!
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks so much again Christy and do think stress definitely doesn't help for sure. And can tell you I really have had my fair share of pimples as I said and really hasn't been fun at all over the years!!
The Dose of Reality says
I am DEFINITELY entering right now! I did not have trouble with acne as a teenager, but since becoming an adult it is RIDICULOUS!! I blame the chocolate I eat.-Ashley
Janine Huldie says
Ashley, trust me the chocolate doesn't help here either, but I am so not willing to give that one up!! But seriously, good luck and sending you good thoughts on this one for sure!! 🙂
Menopausalmother.blo says
You can definitely see a difference in your skin in these pictures! That's amazing! I am fortunate in that since menopause has started I don't get the breakouts anymore like I used to. It never ceased to amaze me that as a teen I never had pimples..but as a young mother, I had monthly breakouts all the time. Too bad this stuff wasn't around years ago—I'd have used it for sure!
Janine Huldie says
Marcia, you have given me hope for menopause now someday. But seriously, just so happy that it worked for me right now, because I really hate the breakouts that I get. They always seem to occur at the worst moments, too!
Dani Ryan says
I had horrible acne as a teenager! I found the pill helped, but I would still breakout around the time I got my period. But when I went off the pill, it got a million times better. It's one reason I haven't gone back on the pill (okay, it had more to do with the insane mood swings – ha!). Your face look gorgeous! Glad it worked!
Janine Huldie says
So true Dani about the mood swings and seriously as soon as I go off of the pill and am to get my period, the mood swings hit me like a ton of bricks, so I know what you mean. But I honestly have taken the good with the bad just so that I can have some peace of mind that I won't get pregnant again, because as much as I love my girls I am pretty much done now. And thank you so much for your compliment and just glad it did help me 🙂
Karen A. Nelson says
Your skin is looking great! I have fought acne my entire life. I am finally on some medication from the dermatologist that seems to be working for the most part. I am really looking into hormone testing to see what I can do to handle acne and other hormonal side effects more naturally.
Janine Huldie says
Oh Karen I am glad you too found something that seems to work for you now and will say that this can be so very frustrating for sure. I as truly just happy to try this and see how it worked for me!!
