A few weeks back, my very good friend turned me on to making handmade soap at home here.
She also reminded me that Amazon Prime is just a click away to craft and have fun at home. See even though stores and the economy are slowly opening back up here, we still have limited supplies in our local stores.
Just so much easier to find what I search on Amazon, click through and order than have to find out which of my local stores is open and if they do have the items I want in stock.
Plus, it is summer here FINALLY and I am loving all the summer fruits, such as berries for eating, drinking and more. We especially love strawberries and blueberries this time of the year.
Let’s be honest the summer fruit scents’ are a part of what makes summer special.
So in keeping with making soap, but also incorporating the summer fruits, I decided to make Blueberry Muffins Loofah Soap.
See Loofahs are great for exfoliating and the scent of blueberry muffins has me dreaming of the summer that much more now.

Materials
Tools
- Serrated Knife
- 4 cup Pyrex Measuring Cup
- Isopropyl Alcohol in a spray bottle
Instructions
- Using your serrated knife, start by cutting your loofah into 1" slices and place each piece into the bottom of your mold.
- Melt your clear soap base in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-20 second increments (begin at 30, then 20), stirring after each session until completely melted.
- Once your soap base is completely melted, add your soap colorant (one drop at a time until you get the color you desire), coconut oil, and fragrance oil to the soap base.
- Spray the bottom of your mold with the alcohol spray, then pour your soap base into the silicone mold and spray once again with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Let it sit completely untouched to cool and harden for about 1-2 hours.
- Remove from the silicone mold once it has set and hardened and enjoy.
I honestly love the way this soap turned out. Perfectly scented with a very sweet blueberry smell. Again great for summer and beyond. Plus, it is gentle on your skin, but also helps to exfoliate, as well.
