*Thanks to Oriental Trading for providing me with the flip flops craft kit, as well as party supplies. All opinions here are expressly my own.
Flip Flops and summer go hand-in-hand! I mean it is summer time here. My girls and I are wearing flip flops daily during summer vacation now.
Plus, my older daughter celebrated her 8th birthday yesterday. We were also in Disney World right before. But are returned the evening before her actual birthday.
My husband purchased a projector and screen off Amazon at the end of last year. So, we are hoping to do a backyard movie night to celebrate her birthday this year in the upcoming weeks.
The movie, on tap, is Trolls as it is still one of her favorites. Going with the bright, summer colors, her party theme is summer.
Therefore, I found an easy, flip flops pillow craft kit on Oriental Trading. See Oriental Trading happens to be a store I shop online often at having been class mom and Daisy Troop Leader, as well.
This flip flops themed craft is very easy. No sewing is involved. Double knotting is it.

So how do you make this flip flop pillow craft?
Now, check out the simple instructions below:
Easy Flip Flops Fleece Tied Pillow Craft
Supplies
• Oriental Trading Flip Flop Fleece Tied Pillow Craft Kit(s)
Instructions
- First, lay one of the fleece flip flops panels on top of the other fleece panel, making sure that all the fringe pieces line up, and that the flip flops designs are on the outside.
- Next, tie each fringe pair together in a knot on three sides of the pillow.
- Then, stuff the pillow through the last untied side. Here be sure to tear the stuffing apart into smaller bits to make it more fluffy.
- Last, when the pillow is completely stuffed, finish knotting the remaining fringe pairs.
Now, you are ready to use your flip flop fringe pillow to sit on while watching your very own outdoor summer-time movie!

Thanks Meredith and I totally recommend for your kids this summer, too!! 🙂

I am wearing them right now! I live in them all summer, except when I’m working, when I wear sneakers for good support. I love the ease of flip flops. That said, I also suggest clients take a good look at the flip flops come end of summer. If they are beaten up, just toss them. Might as well move them along rather than store them all winter, only to let them go next spring!
Janine says
Great advice and I am with you on tossing those old flip flops at the end of the summer season, too! 🙂

Cute idea Janine! Projects like this are great intros into “sewing” for kids. Visiting from Happy Now Party.
Janine says
Aw, thanks Victoria and I love that this doesn’t require any sewing as I hang my head in shame that I, myself, don’t know how to sew still!
William Holland says
Cute idea, of course, but probably not my style. LOL Welcome back, Janine, and have a Terrific Tuesday.
Janine says
Aw, thanks Bill and I am slowly getting back to the swing of things here. Happy Terrific Tuesday to you, too now!! 🙂

Janine says
Thanks Dara and yes flip flops are the best!! 🙂
Tamara says
Ah, it’s so cute! I love flip flops. Scarlet does too. I got some for Des and he said they hurt his feet and he prefers burning his feet on the hot Cape Cod sand. That’s Des for ya!
Janine says
Omg, Des and Lily would so be besties as she complains at times of her flip flops annoying her. She wore them at Disney, but then started to wear her sandals, too. Which btw got drenched from a thunderstorm!

I love that your daughter are learning how to sew and do crafts. My youngest one stays busy all summer long doing crafts. She will be 15 next week and love it. Today, she is making paper wedding arrangements. They are beautiful!

I personally think that you needed a few extra days at Disney to celebrate her birthday there, but I’m sure it was good to be back home to celebrate with friends and family. I am loving that pillow craft and it turned it so adorable as well. Might have to try and get Madison to make one with me from old tees we have laying around.
Janine says
Aw, I was so torn as I would have loved to stay a few more days, but I also wanted to be back here to celebrate with family/friends for her, too. So trust me I had similar thoughts though, too.
