As most already know by my birth story post that shared yesterday in honor of Emma’s birthday, she indeed turned 4. Totally bittersweet for me and still find it hard to believe that she is 4 years old and this is her last year of pre-school before entering kindergarten.
This past weekend, we celebrated her day with her pre-school classmates and friends. It was at a local gymnastics school, because even though Emma has taken dance for 2 years now, she has been talking a lot about trying gymnastics and after she attended another birthday party at this same place seemed even more enthralled.
Looks like I may need to make some decisions regarding extracurricular activities in the form of dance, gymnastics and/or soccer for the fall, but right now it was Emma’s time to shine on her big day.
So, I am not photo bombing this post with her gymnastics pre-school party. Hope you enjoy it as much as she did. And thank you to all that attended and your generosity and kindness, too.
Side note out of respect for the other small children and their parents, these above pictures I posted were just of my own two girls. I try my best to not post other people’s kids, especially after I had a bit of an incident in the past. I never now who may get offended and seriously don’t want to upset anyone.

The expressions on her face in 'Rings' and 'Blowing out the candles' are my favourites. She just looks so thrilled and having such a lovely time. The cake was awesome too – well done you (or did Kevin make it?) I bet Emma was over the moon.
What a gorgeous birthday you gave her.
And yep, your baby's growing up! Take a few deep breaths there!

I know I love that little face and she really is such a good girl. Even last night when her big day was over, she was hugging and kissing me, telling me how much she loved me, as well as saying thank you a ton!! Oh and I actually did make the cake, but it was from a mold and so easy to make π

4 years old… I hope you've started on those College applications by now!…lol

Oh thank you and I had no choice, but to make, because she kept asking for a Sleeping Beauty Cake (had to be pink!).

All nice, but that last picture is AWESOME!!!
And I did 'aww' at the little band-aid on her in a pic. above. π Glad she had a sweet birthday!

I know Rosey and my husband really captured her excitement in that one picture. And the bandaids, seriously no one has cuts even anymore, but both my girls have these imaginary boo-boos that require the use of Princess bandaids everyday now!! I am single handedly keeping Johnson's and Johnson's in business right about now, lol!! π

Love love love the cake!

Thanks Sara and they sell the dress part of the mold at AC Moore and then you just stick the doll in for the top portion. Really pretty easy to make and used the same mold for Cinderella last year π
Deb @ Urban Moo Cow says
I like the contrast between her face in "Sitting in the beginning" and "Mats"! The concentration followed by sheer joy. Plus, holy cool cake, I hope I never have a girl, because she ain't getting a cake that looks like that from this baking-challenged mama.
My recent post Which Is More Important, Intelligence or Resilience?
Janine Huldie says
Deb, I know she was definitely more timid and concentrated at first, but then she was truly overjoyed and totally came out of her shell. And the cake was so easy. Seriously, it is a mold (the skirt) and then you just put doll in for the top portion. Oh and I used pink Funfetti icing (which was pre-made, store bought). So you may just be able to have that girl after all, lol!! π π

These pictures are just too cute. I love how the girls just smile when they do something they love. I signed Reagan up for gymnastics last night and I can't wait to take her to her first class Tuesday. She's done it before and absolutely adored it so it's going to be so much fun now that she's older and has more balance and coordination.

Thanks Lanaya and I know I saw a huge difference in Emma's abilities just from one year to the next, as she went to her cousin's gymnastics party last year and now this year her own. Yay to Reagan being signed up and you will have to share about her first day!!! π xoxo!!

Looks like such a fun party, and you can tell that Emma had a blast! I don't think I've ever seen photos of the girls with their hair down–they look so pretty! I think when Sofia's older she'd love to have a party at a gymnastics place, too. Just playing in everything would be fun. And that cake! Pinterest? It turned out well!
My recent post old school blogging ~ five things.

Thanks Kera. I usually put hair up, because they always seem to get stuff in their long hair, but I thought this was a special occasion and left it down for them And the cake seriously was just a mold that I bought at AC Moore using store bought cake mix/icing. Very easy to make, but love the way it came out!! Hope Sophia does try Gymnastics, too in the future π xoxo!!

I loved the homemade barbie cake. did ya make it? Blog its recipe, J9.
I am glad that your girls had an awesome time yesterday!
Voted for ya!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Ruchira and I did indeed make the cake. It was very simple and just used a cake mold for the dress and Barbie was added on the top portion. And used store bought cake mix and icing π
