Finally Summer Vacation Wrap-Up

Filed Under: Married Life, Thankful Things, Wrap-Up Tagged With: Affiliates, Father's Day, giveaway, Recap, Thankful Thing

Back at Saturday again folks (this Saturday it is finally summer vacation).  Seems like I blinked on Monday and somehow here we are!  Another great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.

A few of my blogging friends started up a blog hop recently, called Ten Things of Thankful and I am again adding my ten thankful things from the week here to the linkup.

Ten Things of Thankful
  1. Summer vacation finally being upon us and having pre-school and dance over and done with for the summer.
  2. Having had a wonderful and quiet Father’s Day with my Kevin and the girls.
  3. A week without any kids sick.
  4. Getting caught up on blogging during my kids’ nap.
  5. My design company, J9 Designs, taking off a bit and getting more jobs the past few weeks.
  6. Getting to veg out Tuesday night and watch all of Trueblood and the classic movie Animal House, too.
  7. My chiropractor for working on my upper back/neck that was bothering me after having Lily sleep in out bed the other night.
  8. My MacBook having iMovie, so I could try my hand at my first ever Vlog (look for details below) complete with some video editing, too (stay tuned).
  9. Being able to take walks with Kevin and the girls in the evening after dinner that the weather is indeed warmer and less rainy lately.
  10. No real plans on this sunny, warm Saturday.  The day is pretty much pus for the asking.  Did I mention no more early Saturday dance!!!

pinkfade

Sunday was, of course, Father’s Day.  Kevin, I and the girls actually slept in.  First time in so long that I slept past 8 am.  Really don’t remember the last time, but it felt so good.  Kevin has repeatedly asked that I don’t buy him anything, because (the gamer that he is) he wants the new Playstation 4, when it comes out next year.

Father’s Day Epic Mickey 2 Video Game Playing!!

However, I couldn’t not do anything for the man that truly is there for us all year long.  So, I made the girls and him chocolate chip pancakes, while they played Epic Mickey 2 on PS3.  I also got him cards, his favorite pastry (the Napoleon) and a grilling Wok that we had been interested to try on our barbecue.  The rest of the day was quite relaxing with visiting with my family first and then heading over to Kevin’s for a joint 2 year old party for our niece and Father’s Day celebration.  All-in-all, I think we had a great day.

Stay tuned for my first Vlog and It is your turn now to join us!!

Stay tuned for my first Vlog and It is your turn now to join us this Thursday or Friday with More Than Mommies!!

All-in-all, a productive week was then had with me being able as I stated in my 10 Thankful Things to actually get caught up on blogging, getting some wonderful design work done and even getting some downtime, too in the evenings.

Now since it is Saturday onto this week’s recap for those who are catching up or missed a moment of it and some exciting offers, as well!!

Yay and hope you get caught up, too. I was lucky, because my girls napped at the beginning of the week, but by the end of it not so much. So, trust me I am just thankful for the few days that I was able to, because I truly didn't get as much accomplished on the other days!!

It sounds as though your Father's Day was delicious, and your summer's shaping up to go the same way. I'm glad you get more time to relax now you're not trying to keep to such demanding schedules.

VERY excited about the vlog… 😀

I am so in love with my chiropractor. After just one adjustment I feel like a new woman. And I agree the worst is when my son sleeps in my bed. I always wake up with some sort of crink. Love the idea of the 10 things you are thankful for linkup and will have to join in next week.

I know Sara, seriously my chiropractor really is the best thing I ever was able to find and do for myself. I have sciatica from the end of my second pregnancy and he has truly helped so much with this and so much more. And so hope you join in next week. Really is a great way to end blogging week 🙂

We still have four more weeks to go until the summer holidays start.

very good to hear, and a very identifiable-with list. can't get enough of the non-freezing weather… and the still-light-out-after-dinner

Thank you for posting about your top 10 things you're thankful for…I desperately need a quick post to write for the MBH today and I think I'll use that. If you don't mind of course! I had a few other WAY better posts, but just not the time to write them since I just got back from my parents yesterday. I'm happy that you don't have anything really planned for today and you can just relax! We have my nephew's birthday party to go to…at least they have a pool so Sofia can swim. AND I'm so excited to see your vlog this coming week!

Oh I am getting excited to share it Alexa and really wasn't even one to want to do this, but now I can't wait for the end of the week for this. And as for finding time, my girls actually napped at the beginning of the week and I turned everything else off and just wrote. It was a great feeling and not sure if it will happen again, because it truly is like Haley's Comet!! But in all seriousness, I am trying so hard now to do the minimal on the weekend and then work during nap time if possible. I am truly a work in progress though and just trying my best now!! 🙂

Lol, you made me giggle this morning, but trust me mine is giggle worthy, too!! And my video is a bit dark, because the kids were napping and I was in my bedroom. I didn't even think to turn the light on, because it was light and very bright out, but still came a bit darker. But I liked it for the most part and didn't want to do it over!! Oh that is awful with the rain and we had so much rain for about a month off and on straight here in May and into the first two weeks of June. So, I know just how miserable that is first had. And the best I can come up with is downloading some fun apps or watching some cute Pixer/Disney Movies (make it a movie day), but then again you can only do that for so long. Thanks as always Kristi and hoping the rain clears very soon for you!!!

I always feel like a bad mom when I say this, but I CANNOT sleep with a kid in my bed, so I rarely let one of them in. My husband is the opposite, so when one of ours wanted to get in bed with us, they got in on his side and he cuddled them (while they pushed me to the very edge of the mattress where I STILL got not sleep). Glad the chiropractor got you fixed up.

I never had this issue until having my second and having lower back problems. I must say it makes me feel terrible not to be able to totally share a bed with them, but my younger definitely doesn't sleep in our bed without moving around a ton. Our older little girl is easier to sleep with, because she stays in one spot and rarely moves. But still not always comfortable. Thanks for sharing and letting me know it isn't just me!! 🙂
