Welcome back to Finish The Sentence Friday Blog Hop (FTSF). We give you a sentence and you finish it (however long or short you’d like). Please feel free to link up and follow any or all of our hostesses, which are below.
And now for this week’s sentence to finish: “I hit a turning point in my life when I…”
And next week’s sentence to finish: “The hardest part about my day is…”
I hit a turning point in my life when I…
Seriously, I was a serial dater before him, but in my defense what was out there in the opposite sex was oh so bleak.
To prove my point, I will start at the beginning.
The first guy I ever truly got serious with was in my junior year of high school. He was a nice guy, but definitely a bit of a player. We dated off and on for about a year in a half. We break up, date others and then make up. Total vicious cycle, but that was just the way it was.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was he decided to hook up with my best friend at the time right before our senior prom. Enough said and dumped him so fast he didn’t know what hit him. And lost a friend in the process. They didn’t last long though and for about 2 years every so often he would try to get in my good graces, but by that point I had started dating another guy.
I dated a few more boys over the course of about two years, when I met another guy who I thought worthy of my attention. That lasted for a bout a year, when it just eventually fizzled out, because to be quite honest he was a bit of a narcissistic pretty boy. Yes, he had the looks, but just knew it and acted as such. Making it difficult to try and get much closer to him, because of this.
Then, one night I met a young man when I was out with friends, who was so very handsome, but also happened to be going away after studying local for two years to finish up his bachelor’s degree. Can anyone say, “Bad Timing!”
Well, we tried the long distance thing, but admit it didn’t work.
Next up, was truly the first real of my adult life. Unfortunately, if I had one guy who loved himself too much previously, this was didn’t quite love himself enough. He was a tortured should, who loved the bottle a bit too much. Let’s just, he didn’t say that he didn’t, “Just Say No!!” And his addictions were what won out in the end.
After that, I met a marine dressed as Spongebob at a friend’s Halloween party. I know sounds crazy, but believe me this wasn’t even craziest I have had in the past. But nevertheless, we dated for a few months. He got deployed to Iraq and made the decision to dates others.
And then I laid eyes on him on a Match.com ad. We lived literally 5 minutes away from each. We met, dated, fell in love, got engaged, got married and had two kids. Best ad, I ever answered and truly was the biggest turning point in my life for sure.
Now tell me, in the comments, about a turning point in your life. Or write a post and link it up! And be sure to share my story with all your FB and Twitter friends. We’ll also be featuring some of our favorites on Twitter with the Hashtag #FTSF and our Facebook pages too, so make sure to follow. Don’t forget to grab a button and put it somewhere people will see.
