Here we are and it is another Wednesday. Last week, I showcased some of our wedding photos for Wordless Wednesday. Mainly, I put together some of the photos from before, during and right after our wedding mass (we are Roman Catholic and had a high mass).
This week, as we are indeed getting that much closer to Valentine’s Day, I wanted to show my viewers a bit more from our wedding, but instead of from the actual mass, I am displaying some of the photos from our wedding reception, which actually was held at Leonard’s of Great Neck (in New York).
My NanaThe above picture was of me and my grandmother. This was my Nana and I absolutely love this picture, because I am so very grateful that I had her in my life for as many years as I did and that she was present at our wedding. She was thrilled for us and adored Kevin. Unfortunately, my Nana passed away, three years ago on February 3rd. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and miss, but this photo is one that I kept close to my heart now that she is no longer with us.
So Serious!!Our photographer took a group of pictures of us in the gardens at our reception hall, because it was a beautiful summer afternoon and evening, too. Yes, we got sunshine and 85 degrees!! I just love how we are so in the moment here, as well as the camera coloring and effects used for this shot.
Taken during our cocktail hour, we told to pose on the floor in our finest and look like we were lounging. Somehow the photographer accomplished what he was aiming for even if I had this huge gown to somehow maneuver. Yes, by this point of the day, I could not wait to be able to bustle my train on my wedding gown. As much as I loved this dress, the train after hours of trying to walk and carry it had lost its appeal. Once these pictures were taken, I finally was able to indeed bustle that train. God I was never so happy in my life!!
Dancing and Partying the Night Away!!Our maitre’d asked Kevin at one point, “Isn’t your bride going to eat?” Well, between being the hostess by greeting all my guests and dancing the night away, I never did get to enjoy the food. Thanks god for our honeymoon, where we ate and drank like royalty. The above photo though shows us both getting our groove on!!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane from over seven years ago. I promise to have more Flashback photos in the coming weeks too. So stay tuned each Wednesday as I continue with some more photos from our past.
Also, don’t forget to check out my awesome friend, Cyndi’s blog, Pictimilitude, who started this concept of Wordless or Word-ful Wednesdays.

Hey Janine – how did you find out about this WW thing in the first place? Do you link up anywhere with it? I found a blog called Wordless Wednesday on Blogger and there are over 150 bloggers linked up there already.
Janine Huldie says
Lori, I go to a few of them now, but my friend Cyndi at http://pictimilitude.com started her own recently and truly got the ball rolling for me and I know a few others too. Which on do you go to by the way??

Beautiful wedding photos! My grandma passed away right before I had my son, so I feel your pain.
Janine Huldie says
Oh Stephanie, I am so sorry for your loss, to. She has been gone now over three years this past week and still miss her so. And think of her quite often now. So, I am truly happy to have photos from this day to remind me she was with us and how happy she was that day π

Janine Huldie says
Thanks!! Oh I have the moments too sometimes Erin, because it was a beautiful day, but went too quickly, plus I still can't believe that was almost 7 years ago. Crazy how time flies!!

I will never forget how beautiful you looked on your and Kevin's wedding day and how happy you both were. And Nana was as thrilled for both of you on that day as she was for herself and Poppy on their wedding day. It was a perfect day all around!
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Mom so very much and was just so happy to have both our families you included with us to share in the day!! π

Janine, that picture of you and your nana is gorgoues! So, so special. I found one the other day of my granny and I hugging at my wedding taken by one of the guests – it's one of my favourites. Loved all your pictures here, I can see why you wanted to showcase them. I'm also feeling a little mushy as it gets closer to Valentine's Day. Wonder why that is. π
Janine Huldie says
Oh Melanie same here as we get closer to Valentine's Day. We also lost my Nana in February and my grandfather passed away on Valentine's Day. So it is a bittersweet time of the year here. But do love these photos and so had to share π
Cyndi says

Emily Cappo says
Love all those photos and that one of your Nana and you was touching. I too had a special relative (my great aunt) who was at my wedding, but has since passed. I was grateful she was there that day too. And, Leonards of Great Neck was soooo close to the house where I grew up and yet to this day, I've never been to a wedding there! Looked beautiful!!
Janine Huldie says
Thank you so very much Emily and wish I would have known you back then and you could have come to the wedding. Then you would have at least been able to say you went to Leonard's for a wedding π π As for my Nana, I seriously just so happy she was there and still with us. Wish she was still here, but know it isn't possible and just thankful for what how time I did have with her π
Dani Ryan says
Gorgeous! Will vote for you tonight, as always! xo
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks Dani and the same here, because as you know that is when my votes open up, too!! π
Stephanie Sprenger says
I LOVE looking at people's wedding photos, and yours are beautiful! What a great contribution to Wordless Wednesday! Thanks for sharing! BTW, at our reception, the caterers made plates for the two of us and pretty much *forced* us to eat before anyone else did. It's a good thing, or we never would have eaten either!
Janine Huldie says
Thank you Stephanie and god how I wish someone would have forced me to do that with our food, because if I would have known then what I know now with barely ever eating a meal hot or in its entirety, I think I would have enjoyed that meal if it killed me, lol!! π
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Amy and so glad you too had your grandmother on your wedding day and will say that I am truly so happy she was there and I at the very least have this picture and a few more of her from that day and I like you look at those photos quite often, because it does make me feel a bit closer to her, too π
Amy Perdew says
That is so sweet. I hope to have a wedding with family and be able to have that princess day. I love those photos Janine. Photos are one of the best things to me.
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Amy and I am sure you will have your very own special day. I am with you and love photos and that is why I made sure we shopped around for the photographer and didn't settle, because I knew when the day itself was long gone and over, the photos would be all we would have left. Thanks again π
gigigirl says
