Fringe Rubber Band Bracelets Tutorial~Part 2

Filed Under: crafts Tagged With: Crafts, kids, Rubber Band Bracelets, Tutorial

Looking for a fun and funky craft to get the whole family into, if you kids haven’t already tried these hot, new bracelets?  Look no further and read on.

Last week, for the first ever, PinCentive Blog Hop, I was so very happy and honored to share with you the latest craze that all the young kids are now into through my brother, who works at AC Moore.

It is a crafty and fun activity that many commented brought them back to when the where younger.  I have to admit, it also made me recall my youth and how I used to make knitted friendship bracelets with yarn.

If you missed how to make and create the original rubber band bracelets, click here.

For who have mastered that bracelet and are looking for more of a challenge, please read on how to make your very own Fringe Rubber Band Bracelets, which are a bit more challenging, but definitely just as much fun as the original if not more.

Supplies:

  • Crochet Hook
  • Stretch Band Loops
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Follow the instructions for the Basic Stretch Loop Rubber Band Bracelet.  This can be completed with a crochet hook.  Stretch BandLoop Tool or a loom (whatever you have and feel comfortable with).
  2. Take colors of the rubber bands that you were working with and cut them so they are rubber band “strips”.
  3. This can get a little tricky, but it’s worth the effort!  Start looping the strips through each loop of the bracelet and just tie in an overhand knot.  The picture graphic shows 2 strips tied per band on bracelet.
  4. Another way to help with tying on the bands is to stretch out the bracelet onto something and just tie the bands along doing it won’t look as full, but when it is no longer stretched out and placed on the wrist it will look full and funky.  Create a bunch to roll onto your arm; for a festive look, you can even create in color combinations for the holidays!

Those are SO adorable! They almost make me want to have another baby so that I can maybe get a girl this time. The key word is almost because no way am I having another baby now – but those adorable bracelets make me want to!

You made me giggle Kristi, because I said something similar the other day in reverse, but then I qualified it the way you did, because I am so done and seriously cannot go back there again either!! Glad to know it isn't just me that feels this way though!!

Now that you've posted these, I keep seeing them everywhere! Maybe they were already there and I just didn't notice. Scarlet has one and I wasn't there when she got it! I'd love a rainbow one. And Kristi made me giggle too. She always does.
Hope you're feeling well, my friend!

Tamara, I seriously am still smiling from Kristi's comment and love her for that today, because I am so in need of some smiles before dropping my girls off to school this afternoon. But I know they are everywhere now and I know own two courtesy of my niece, but I too would love some more!! 🙂

I love the fringe too! Ok well I've decided I'll give it a try and after a few good effort tries if it doesn't work…I'll just tell the kids to strap the damn colored rubber and around their wrist and call it a day!

I've only just figured out that those rubber band bracelets are all the rage right now. They seem pretty fun to make, though! If Sofia was older I think I would buy a kit to make with her. Although I secretly would buy one just for myself, lol. Sofia does love her "pretties"…so it might be a gift for her birthday. Thanks for the tutorial and hope you have a good day! xoxo

Kera, I know my almost 9 year old niece not only makes the bracelets, but now she started with the necklaces, too. Seriously this thing is huge and I know if my girls were older would so be making with them. But will also say they too love their pretty jewelry, so if I did make they would probably be wearing all of them!! 🙂

I know the feeling well ad would tell you this is the way I feel about Play Dough and want no part of it my house after the mess I had over the summer with it! But these really aren't as bad as that, but will say it is more my older niece making them and not my kids either yet, but had to share. Thanks again for hosting and hoping you are feeling a bit better tonight!! 🙂 xoxo!!
