Dinner Ideas Meal Planning Help 2

1. Chicken Teriyaki

This classic Japanese dish is always a hit! Chicken teriyaki is simple to make and so full of flavor. Teriyaki is a mix of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and mirin (a Japanese cooking wine). You can use chicken breasts for this dish, but chicken thighs work the best.

You’ll absolutely love this dish if you’re a fan of sweet and savory flavors. Also, chicken teriyaki is a great meal to prepare ahead of time. Simply cook the chicken and vegetables, then store them in the fridge until you’re ready. Serve it with steamed rice and a side of steamed veggies for a complete meal. Here is the recipe for this meal.

Also, you can view this week’s IGA specials to get the best value for money on the ingredients needed for this and all the other recipes on this list.

2. Beef Stew

There’s nothing quite like a bowl of hearty beef stew on a cold winter night. This dish is filling and soothing, and it’s the perfect meal to make when you want something warm and comforting.

Beef stew is made by slow cooking beef and vegetables in a liquid, typically beef broth. This dish can be made in a slow cooker or on the stovetop. If you’re short on time, you can even use frozen vegetables.

Moreover, getting the right cut of meat is important for a good beef stew. Choose a tough cut of beef, such as a chuck roast, that will break down and become tender after cooking. Also, be sure to trim any excess fat before adding the beef to the stew. Enjoy!

3. Spaghetti and Meatballs

This dish is a classic for a reason. It’s simple, yet so delicious. Plus, it’s a great meal to feed a large group of people. This treat is not only popular with kids, but adults can’t get enough of it either!

It’s made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, eggs, and parsley. The beef is mixed together with the other ingredients, then formed into balls. The meatballs are then cooked in a tomato sauce.

Once they’re cooked through, the spaghetti is added to the sauce and cooked until al dente. Now, all that’s left to do is add a little more parmesan cheese on top and enjoy! Here’s the recipe for this delightful meal.

4. Salmon with Rice and Vegetables

This healthy meal is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It’s packed with protein and nutrients, but it’s also incredibly easy to make. Simply cook the salmon and rice according to package directions, then top with steamed veggies.

You can use any type of fish for this dish, but salmon is the best option. It’s a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for your health. Moreover, salmon is a fairly quick-cooking fish, and it pairs well with rice and vegetables.

If you don’t like salmon, you can also use chicken, shrimp, or tofu. You can also change the vegetables to suit your taste. People usually use different combinations of vegetables when preparing this meal.

5. Cheese Tortellini in Creamy Marinara Sauce

This dish is made with tortellini, which is a type of pasta that’s filled with cheese. The tortellini is cooked in a creamy marinara sauce, then topped with parmesan cheese.

To make the best marinara sauce, be sure to use fresh tomatoes. You can either use Roma tomatoes or San Marzano tomatoes. Both of these varieties are flavorful and make delicious sauces. You can also use canned fire-roasted tomatoes as they’re easily available.

Moreover, don’t skimp on the cheese, and make sure to use good quality Parmesan cheese for this dish. Lastly, if you want a little extra flavor, you can add some chopped fresh basil to the sauce.

6. Sausage and Peppers

This meal is a must-try, and we can bet the kids will love it. Moreover, it’s not even complicated. All you need is a few simple ingredients and you’re good to go.

The dish is made with sausage, bell peppers, and onions. It’s typically cooked in tomato sauce, but you can also use a garlic and olive oil sauce. The sausage and peppers are cooked until the sausage is browned and the peppers are soft.

This dish is delicious when served over a bed of rice or pasta. You can also put it on a hoagie roll and enjoy it as a sandwich. If you want a little extra flavor, you can add some red pepper flakes to the dish.

7. Seasoned Crab Cake With Remoulade Sauce

Last on our list is this rare dish. It’s a bit more time-consuming than the other recipes on this list, but it’s worth it! Crab cakes are made with fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, and spices. They’re pan-fried until golden brown, then served with a remoulade sauce.

Remoulade sauce is a mayonnaise-based sauce that’s typically used as a dip or sandwich spread. It’s made with mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, and spices. This sauce is the perfect complement to crab cakes.

By the way, if you’re obsessed with pickles, here are 5 pickle recipes to try.

If you can’t find fresh crab meat, you can use canned crab meat. However, fresh crab meat is definitely the better option. It’s more flavorful and has a better texture.
