GLOSSYBOX, Pandora, Birthdays, Spring Soccer, Oh My – So Thankful!

Filed Under: affiliates, BLOG, Thankful Things Tagged With: Birthdays, Frozen, GlossyBox, Nails, Pandora, Soccer, Thankful Things

Been a long week, but before I get to my thankful things for one and all, just a quick reminder in case you still haven’t subscribed yet and would like to subscribe to my monthly newsletter for all my updates and news, please do so now below (this month’s will go out early next week with the start of the new month coming up now):

Now, that I have gotten that message out of the way, please continue on and read this week’s thankful things to find out more now…

Ten Things of Thankful
1.  Getting to celebrate my mom’s birthday with her.  We had the most delicious cannoli cream cake that my dad bought for her.

2.  Got my March Glossybox and received a free bonus gift with a brand new Alex and Ani bracelet.  Seriously, best box so far just because of that little surprise! Review to follow soon.

4.  A spring inspired manicure from OPI’s new Brazil nail polish line, which made me dream of warmer, nicer weather

5.  Going out to dinner Saturday night with Kevin, the girls and Kevin’s parents, too.

6.  Watching Frozen with Kevin and the girls after dinner on Saturday night, too.
We Finally Got to Watch The DVD of Frozen!

7.  Finally finishing the book, “Where Did You Go, Bernadette?, by Maria Semple“.

Where'd You Go Bernadette8.  Spring soccer starting for Emma this past weekend.  Lily’s doesn’t start for 2 weeks though now.  However, Mother Nature needs to get the memo about it indeed being spring, because 40 and cloudy was downright cold to be outdoors playing and watching soccer.

9.  An encore family movie night requested by Emma after we indeed watched Frozen on Saturday night.  So we watched Planes that we DVR’d for the girls on Sunday evening as a family, because Emma’s exact words were, “We need to watch another movie as a family.”

10.  Huge thank you to Sandy for nominating me for The Hardwired Heart, which was created by Lizzi and put huge smiles on my face this past Monday morning, which is always one of the busiest days of the week.  Both these ladies are true friend and totally can’t say enough here how much I love them both.  Thank you again Sandy for awarding me this one and Lizzi for creating it!!

A side note by the way, I am on Instagram here and my hashtag to follow me is @jnine0712.  Most of the photos above were indeed posted on there and trying to make an conscious effort for 2014 (one of my goals for the new year) to use Instagram more then ever and hope you will follow me over there if you haven’t already!*

with a guarded optimism that is completely justified by the Winter past, I will say, 'it looks a little like there won't be anymore 20 degree weeks for a while'

Happy birthday to your mom! (Did she get some help blowing out those candles? One of my daughters was notorious for blowing out candles, and it didn't matter whose cake they were on!)

    • Janine Huldie says

      March 29, 2014 at 9:57 am

Aww, thanks so much Kristi. My girls totally helped her blow out the candles and I couldn't get them all in the picture, because they were on the other side of her. But totally did and they also never miss out on an opportunity to blow out candles for who ever's birthday it is!! 🙂

There's just something wrong about playing soccer in winter coats and hats, isn't there? Hope Mother Nature gets her act together soon and gives us the weather we deserve!

I love the picture of your mother blowing out the candles on her cake, especially because there seems to be a little girl helping her from the other side.

I still haven't seen Frozen. My girls at preschool talk about it all the time, and even my 15 year old goes around singing all the songs. I think I'll wait until a really hot summer day to do it. If we ever get one of those, that is….

As for my mom, both girls were right on the other side helping her blow those candles out and always do there best to help when candles are indeed involved!

I think you idea for Frozen and hope it does indeed warm up enough someday soon for you to get to do this now 🙂

A very Happy Birthday to your mom and I wish I could have been there because the sound of a cannoli cream cake sounds (and looks) really, really good. And I could use a big, fat slab right now after seeing your freebie from your Glossybox. I am giving myself a good hard kick right now for canceling that subscription just last month 🙁
I bought Frozen last week but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. One of these days but obviously, the rest of the world will have already seen it!
Look at Emma! She looks adorable (and cold!) and I LOVE the pink stripes on her cleats!

My hat is so off to you, because you have been doing this for years and me only for a year or so, I find myself extra grumpy with the earlier games, especially having to get everyone out of the house and on time on a Sunday, when I truly deep down wish I could be relaxing and having some downtime.
