How to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle For On-the-Go Moms (Giveway Included)

Last week was Winter Break. Many families went on vacation or went away for a few days. We actually took this time to recharge before the long month of March is before us. So, I feel re-energized right now. But I know that won’t last for long.

See March is quite often a month where spring is almost upon us, but there is a long stretch of school and work where there aren’t any real days off. My girls’ calendars for all sorts of activities before and after school, as well as weekends, are jam-packed for the next few weeks now. So, I am an on-the-go mom here, to say the least. I mean the first day back already finds my youngest having Girls Scouts later that day. So, trust me hectic times ahead for this week and those to follow now.

However, I still want a healthy lifestyle through it all. But how do I plan on staying healthy in the upcoming weeks with all the non-stop activities on our calendar?

How to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle for On-The-Go Moms

1. Keep active

This one seems like a no-brainer. I am usually quite active chauffeuring my two girls here, there and everywhere. But staying active means more than that. I work basically from home. So, often during the day, I am on the computer for long stretches. But I found breaking the day up and moving away from the computer even for an hour to get outside works wonders. I am not big on organized exercise. But for me walking even in a store (not necessarily shopping), but just browsing gets my legs moving and heart rate elevated.

2. Stay hydrated

Everyone knows staying hydrated and drinking water daily is important and essential. Therefore, I am constantly drinking water throughout the day. Even when I am out, I usually bring a bottle of water with me.

3. Sleep

This tip is another that you would think most know to do. But sometimes, as moms, we go on autopilot and stay up doing for others well into the night. However, getting sleep is something that you need to do. So, make sure to get to bed at a reasonable hour and for at least six hours.

4. Relax

Easier said than done. But still, it is essential to make some me-time for yourself to relax. Whether you binge-watch your favorite show, read, or something else that relaxes you. Just make sure to do something that takes the edge off and centers you at some point during your busy day.

5. Eat Healthy Foods

As hard as I try to eat clean and healthy, as well as eat veggies sometimes with how hectic it can get here it just isn’t possible.
