As a young girl, I will never forget Easter and how it meant getting all dressed up in new, beautiful clothes.
And as I write this I can’t help, but hum the old song Here Comes Peter Cottontail. No fooling, we had the 45 of this record and can’t help but close my eyes and see myself as a kid all dressed up little to old Peter Cottontail “hopping down the bunny trail, hippity, hoppity Easter is on its way!”
Most already know that I was truly a girly girl as I mentioned previously on my blog and my mother dressed me as such. Every year, I got a new pink dress (yes the pink girl had to have pink and wouldn’t have it any other way). I also always got new white patent leather shoes (because spring meant you could wear white again), as well as little white gloves and even a sun bonnet/hat.
One year, I even begged my parents to buy me a light pink, fur coat, because Easter actually was in March and knew it would be chilly out still. It was expensive, but my parent caved and I ended with this gorgeous, soft fur pink dreamy coat.
Me All Dressed up in My Light Pink Fur Coat for Easter One YearSometimes, I still remember that coat and smile fondly. Even though it is long gone and no longer a little girl myself, I have two little girls to dress for Easter.
So, each year I do try to out do myself (Kevin thinks I am crazy, but indulges me).
This year, I found the perfect little girl’s Easter outfit that would make even the pink girl in me proud.
It is from none other than Janie And Jack. Check it out now and let me know what you think of this one in the comments.
1. Gingham Silk Duppioni Dress / 2. Chiffon Rosette Crop Sweater / 3. Bow Patent Leather Shoe / 4. Bow Straw Hat / 5. Bow Glove
Happy Girly Easter Shopping Now, as well as enjoy some Old Fashioned Peter Cottontail music on me now!

I will never forget those Easter's either and I try so hard with my girls to make it special, too now. Can imagine with boys it would be harder to dress them up though, because I see from my nephew he truly could care less.

SUCH a cute outfit!! LOVE IT!! (but I love Janie and Jack) I especially adore the gloves with the little bows. Squee!!! And you in the coat? Oh, girl…FANTASTIC!!! (I sported that same hairdo back in the day, too!!) –Lisa
Janine Huldie says
Lisa, I seriously knew I had to dig that photo up after I started writing this one. Lo and behold, my mother had the photo hanging in a family collage photo frame on the wall and spotted it as I was helping Emma with something a few days ago. So, happy I could actually include it here. And the hair was definitely in back then, but not so much now, lol!! 🙂

I loved dressing for Easter, my sister not so much, LOLOL. Even though dressing a girl would be fun, dressing a boy is fun too…and easier. Pretty much anything goes, LOL. But the dressing up is so cute.

I have no clue dressing little boys (in case you didn't realize) and my girls have made it that much harder for me to imagine. But will say, I loved Easter and now even more dressing these two!! 🙂

What an adorable dress, love it!! I would never buy those gloves for our girls, I'd give them 2 minutes until they are all dirty 🙂 I think I got Lily an Easter t-shirt once, am I a bad mom?? Last year, we had snow for Easter, hoping for more luck this year!!
My recent post Review: Binaural Beats Meditation
Janine Huldie says
Not a bad mom, I totally didn’t dress up Emma for Lily’s first Thanksgiving, because she was only two days old and I really just had no energy to do that. So trust me not alone in the least. God help us if we get snow in late April for Easter. I think I may just cry!
