Over the years, my daughters’ love of books and reading has only grown exponentially. Let’s be honest, I couldn’t be happier as an avid reader myself.

When my girls were babies, I used to read to them while rocking them to sleep. Now, my girls are heading to the end of elementary school. My two tween daughters can sit for hours on end devouring new books. My older daughter, this past year, began taking a flashlight to bed at night read before going to sleep.

Zachary loves the Sisters / Smile books and now Simon is reading them too. I wonder if they would like the other graphic novels on your list!

I know that the Babysitter’s Club Graphic Novel edition is indeed similar in fashion as the same illustrator actually worked on them. So, hope that helps 🙂

It is fun for me to see what is popular with the tween set now. It’s been awhile since my girls were at this stage, but we loved The Babysitter’s Club way back then too! And Goosebumps is still popular, so that is kind of neat. Can’t go wrong with Harry Potter. I remember when the first one came out. My husband read it aloud to my older girl and she was hooked. I’m sure she has read each of the books at least seven times.

Seana, you are preaching. I actually read the original Babysitter’s Club books when I was a kid. Oh, and Harry Potter is still one of my favorites here, as well 🙂

    Happy Thursday Janine!

As a voracious reader, a reading tutor, and a mom of a now 25 year old daughter who is also a voracious reader, I love this post! My daughter would have probably loved the Harry Potter books as a tween. I remember she was really into the Series of Unfortunate Events books back then.
