Over the years, my daughters’ love of books and reading has only grown exponentially. Let’s be honest, I couldn’t be happier as an avid reader myself.
When my girls were babies, I used to read to them while rocking them to sleep. Now, my girls are heading to the end of elementary school. My two tween daughters can sit for hours on end devouring new books. My older daughter, this past year, began taking a flashlight to bed at night read before going to sleep.
So, with the holiday season upon us, my two tween girls have asked for books for Christmas. You read that right, lists to Santa include books to read.

That is where Scholastic comes into play for me. In the past, I have shopped Scholastic through our elementary school and book fair for my girls. But in recent times, I have also bought directly online from Scholastic.
However, if you are like me and shopping for that special tween girl or girls this holiday season, then scroll below for some great reading suggestions.

Janine says
I know that the Babysitter’s Club Graphic Novel edition is indeed similar in fashion as the same illustrator actually worked on them. So, hope that helps 🙂
Seana Turner says
It is fun for me to see what is popular with the tween set now. It’s been awhile since my girls were at this stage, but we loved The Babysitter’s Club way back then too! And Goosebumps is still popular, so that is kind of neat. Can’t go wrong with Harry Potter. I remember when the first one came out. My husband read it aloud to my older girl and she was hooked. I’m sure she has read each of the books at least seven times.
Janine says
Seana, you are preaching. I actually read the original Babysitter’s Club books when I was a kid. Oh, and Harry Potter is still one of my favorites here, as well 🙂
William D Holland says
I’m big on encouraging kids to read. Who knows, maybe one of your daughters will become a famous writer because of your encouragement. 🙂 And won’t that be cool?
Happy Thursday Janine!
