How Practicing Gratitude Can Improve Your Sleep

Being a parent is tough, and it becomes even harder when you are running on three hours of sleep. Many parents struggle to get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Why? Well, a lot of it has to do with stress. Whether you have two kids, five, or just one, having children is exhausting and stressful. It can feel hard to wind down after a long day when you have anxieties keeping you up. 

However, studies have shown that practicing gratitude before bed can help people sleep better and longer. Grateful thinking goes a long way and one way to practice gratitude is by keeping a gratitude journal. One study even found that participants who kept a gratitude journal and practiced it before bed slept an average of 30 mins longer. 

Keeping a gratitude journal is a great sleep hack many parents don’t know about. To help you start practicing gratitude tonight, Casper created a great gratitude journal for you to print out and do at home. Consider having your kids participate with you. This is a great way for you to bond, reflect on your day together, and make goals for the day to come. They even include fun stickers your kids are sure to enjoy!
