If you’re headed to Disney for a summer vacation this year, you might already be dreading the crowds and long lines! We know it can get a little busy and crazy during summer, so today we’re sharing some of our best tips for how to survive Disney during summer!
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Water is your friend for Disney summer vacation trips! It is easy to get caught up in the magic and forget to hydrate yourself, but you don’t want to pay the price with heat exhaustion later! Keep a water bottle on hand at all times and refill it with the water fountains as needed! The more hydrated you are, the better you’ll feel, and the better experience you’ll have!
2. Consider splitting your day up!
Splitting your day up into two parts is a great way to make sure you avoid the heat and peak hours of crowds! Hit the park early in the morning, head back to your room after lunch, and come back after dinner! This way, you can explore the park when the temperature has cooled down and the crowds have too! The park is usually open longer hours during summer so you don’t have to worry about missing out on time in the evening if you’re on a summer vacation.
3. Plan ahead!
If you’re going to survive Disney during summer, it’s important to wing it a little (don’t stress yourself out too much – after all, it’s the happiest place on Earth!) but it’s also important to plan! Make sure you plan to grab your Lightning Lane Passes early in the day so you can avoid long lines as much as possible. Make a list of everyone’s “must-do” things at the park so you can plan accordingly throughout the day! If you’re splitting up at all, meet in a central location for lunch! The more you plan, the easier it’ll be to avoid unexpected wait times and crowds. You don’t necessarily need to plan every part of your day but a little planning goes a long way!
4. Wait indoors!
If you have the option, find rides or attractions where you can wait indoors to beat the heat! One tip to survive Disney in the summer is to avoid the heat as much as possible and this is a great way to do it!
5. Catch the water attractions!
Sticking near the water play areas, water rides, and water attractions is a good idea during summer Disney vacations! It’s a great way to keep cool all day long if you want to avoid the heat! Since it’ll be warm, you’ll likely dry off pretty quickly too – so don’t worry about being stuck wet all day!
