Back at Saturday again folks and this Saturday, the girls are starting their very, first Saturday of Soccer. Also, Emma is having her 4th birthday party at the local gymnastics party with her school friends. Yet, it seems like I blinked earlier in the week and somehow here we are again back at the weekend! Another great week behind us, but now it is time for another weekend.
Once again, I am adding my ten thankful things from the week here to the Ten Things of Thankful.
- Having a 5 day weekend, starting with the 4th of July through this past Monday with Kevin being off from work to enjoy the holiday weekend with the girls and I.
- Getting to go out to dinner and dessert, too with Kevin, while his parents watched the girls so we could have a bit of alone time to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary.
Celebrate Our Anniversary With Yummy Ice Cream!!
- Seeing Monsters University on Saturday with Kevin, the girls, our niece and nephew, Kevin’s sister and our good friend, too.
- Lots more pool time too, especially since it has been 90 plus degrees for over a week now (no complaints here, because we all know how much I love this time of year and the hot weather).
- Wonderful barbecue time with Kevin, the girls and our family including hamburgers, hots dogs, grilled chicken panini’s and more during this long weekend.
- That my car ended up not needing to be fixed at the mechanic’s when we thought for sure there was indeed something amiss on the weekend, when it was acting a bit strange (seems it was just a batch of bad gas that caused the problem).
- For wonderful bloggy friends who left me such lovely messages on our anniversary, as well as on my Letting Go post. Truly meant the world to me and put smiles on my face.
- Having a reliable and reasonable plumber that came right away when our sink was backing up, fixed it and didn’t charge us an exuberant amount.
- Believe it or not, I am excited and happy the girls are trying soccer out for the summer time, because they have been talking about it for months, but couldn’t join as it would have conflicted with dance.
- For another long weekend, with Kevin having another Monday off for vacation and getting to take the time off to enjoy it with him!!
Hopefully with More Fun Pool-Times!!

Man, you guys have been busy, huh? Great way to spend those hot summer days. We saw Monsters U a couple of weeks ago and we all loved it.
My recent post That’s One Way to Eat Goldfish Crackers
Janine Huldie says
Oh Robin, it has been crazy busy here, but in a good way. The girls did love Monster Inc and Lily just saw the picture again and keeps telling me that is when we saw the movie!!! π
Karen says
Dino didn't like MOnsters INC…strange, right? He did LOVE Dispicable Me. Isn't it lovely to get heartwarming messages from bloggers…makes you feel like they are right there. Always so many great giveaways babe…love it.
My recent post DINO ART
Janine Huldie says
The girls loved it, but I did think the first was a bit better. We are going to take them to see Despicable Me next week, because with Emma's party just don't think we'd have as much time to do that this weekend. And my pleasure with the giveaways. Have a great weekend!! π
Considerer says
I head that Monsters U isn't as good as the first.
So glad that the plumber wasn't too expensive, and your car was ok – it's such a worry when these things suddenly all seem to go wrong at once. But as Dory said – just keep swimming, swimming, swimming
(wait, you did! That pool! Wow π )
Thanks for linking up with us again this week – don't forget to add your link into the thingummy over at mine π
Janine Huldie says
Lizzi, you would be right about that. Don't get me wrong, it was a cute movie, but I personally liked the first just a bit more (especially since the little girl Boo isn't in this one). Love how you brought swimming in with Dori from Nemo!! And heading over now to linkup!! Thank you again for hosting!! π
@LRConsiderer says
NO BOO! Well I suppose there wouldn't be, but she's AMAZING! That's kind of a shame. So glad you linked up – it's lovely to have you with us each week π
Janine Huldie says
I kno wI missed her, because she was such a cutie pie and an integral part of the first movie. Was hoping for at least a cameo at the end. And totally my pleasure to linkup and seriously so happy you host this hop!! π
Rosey says
All this pink is making me happy, I love pink!!
You're lucky you have those mad skills. I can't even get my analytics code in right and it's making me mildly grouchy. π
Glad you had a great anniversary alone w/hubby and fun family time. Long weekends are niiiiice!
Janine Huldie says
Rosey, I love pink so much too and always have. My girls seem to be following in my footsteps on this one. Lily just told me too days ago that pink is "a good color, not a bad one!" And thank you for saying that about my coding/design abilities. I love it and so happy to get to put them to good use!! Have a wonderful weekend!! π
Joy@icansaymama says
Hi Janine,
Always such a pleasure to read your lists!
So cool that the girls are starting to play soccer! I hope they like it!
Pool and barbecue time are what I love, too! We have an inflatable pool that needs to be built up or otherwise the summer will be over until we do it! Meh!
Glad that your car turned out to be okay, having to fix it can become really expensive!
Thank you for linking up with us again! Have a wonderful weekend! π

Joy, I love linking up and thank you and the others for doing this linkup, because it always makes me so happy to share the week's most thankful moments in one concise place!! Hoping you too are having a great weekend now!! π

Hi Janine
I was about to leave a Comment about the things I liked (on your list) and I noticed something very cool… a rogerian expression! Not being coy, but the explanation would go into multi-pages, but it is a good thing! (One of the most creative things rogers do…)
(this being a 2 day affair, I will be back a little later in the afternoon…)
My recent post ‘Welcome to the Weekend, binyons, it’s time for’, the Wakefield Doctrine: Ten Things of Thankful (vol. #6)
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks for that and loving that you noticed this as being Rogerian!!! And huge thanks again for co-hosting this. Hoping your Saturday has been good to you so far!! π
clark says
no, I think it is very cool. getting insights on things from the rogerian perspective (as well as the scottian) is something I'm always on the 'look out' for… Michelle Liew is another who gives us insights from that worldview.
thanks for joining us and have a nice non-cold weekend!

Oh thanks again Clark and so happy to give a bit from the Rogerian Perspective and will do my best to comply more often now for you. And happy weekend to you, too!! π
Billybuc says
And now it begins…..soccer until they leave high school….weekdays, weekends, running to soccer camps and practices and matches….an endless parade of dirty soccer clothes and bruises and scraped knees. Best of luck, Janine. You are in for one heck of a ride. π
Have a great weekend!
Janine Huldie says
Oh god, Bill don't I know it, but I guess it could be worse. Thanks seriously and hoping you are having a great weekend so far!! π
Dyanne@IWantBacksies says
Loving the pool time this summer, too! We don't have our own pool, but we belong to a private pool and love it. Never terribly crowded. And they have grills, so we can take food with us and cook there (which can be a pain but is SO WORTH IT in the end).
Soccer is a great sport for kids. They can have as little contact (like my son) or as much contact (like my daughter) as they feel comfortable, and they're still getting exercise outdoors.
My recent post I Love To Laugh – Ha Ha Ha Ha – Loud And Long And Clear
Janine Huldie says
Dyanne, the pool has been a god send so far and just so happy that my in-laws have. We really have been in it a ton so far and it is only July!! And so far my girls had fun and will be returning next week for more soccer!! π

Loved reading your 10 Things of Thankful this week! I bet the girls loved Monsters University…believe it or not every time a commercial comes on for that Sofia lights up and I think we'll have to rent it for her to watch when it comes out. Next year maybe she'll be able to sit through a movie in the theater! I'm glad that you had a good week despite your car acting up. And I'm truly excited to hear how the girls like soccer! I played soccer my whole life and in college and I hope Sofia tries it out, too. Have a fab weekend Janine! xoxo
My recent post july group giveaway at dawn's disaster!
Janine Huldie says
I think Sophia would totally love Monsters University and would totally get it for her when it comes out on DVD. I know we will be buying the DVD for the girls when it comes out. We promised to take the m next weekend to finally see Despicable Me 2, so they are excited now for that. Emma had a blast at soccer and even got to score a goal. Lily also had fun, but she was a bit more hesitant. Hoping you have been having a great weekend, too and excited again that we still have two more days with Kevin home! π xoxo!!
NuggetOnABudget says
I myself actually want to see Despicable Me 2 lol! The first movie was too cute. And I bet it was fun just to watch the girls play soccer…and Emma must have been proud of her goal π Enjoy your long weekend with Kevin and the girls!
Janine Huldie says
Oh thanks again Kera and must tell you I too want to see the second movie myself also. We went to see the first (just Kevin and I) when I was pregnant with Lily (Emma was still too little to go herself), while Emma was napping and Grandma stayed back to keep an ear out for her. So, I too actually do want to see this one. And she was so very proud. Loved seeing her little face light up!! Hoping you too are having a wonderful Sunday today!! π
Stephanie says
Love the new design, those are adorable pictures of your girls! I'm glad you got a bunch of family time in these past few days, and a belated "Happy Anniversary" to you and Kevin. Almost hoping for a rainy Sunday soon, so I can take the girls to watch "Monster's U.," π
My recent post Thankful For So Much
Janine Huldie says
Thank you so much Stephanie for all your kind words here and am thinking good thoughts that you will get to go see Monsters University, too now!! π
Amy Perdew says
It is always great to spend nice quality family time but also the husband wife time. It is easy to let time get away, so it is nice ya'll have someone to watch the girls. I can not wait to see the new Monster's Inc. and my kiddos of course..lol. I hope the party went well and your plans went terrific. Have a great rest of your weekend.

We saw Monsters U, too. We all enjoyed it.
And so soccer begins! All of my kids absolutely love playing soccer, and I love watching it. Have you bought your foldable chair yet? Or your cooler on wheels? Or an umbrella? How about rain boots? Oh, and insulated blankets? Big water bottles? π Hope you all enjoy the season.
Wishing we had a pool right about now. It has been boiling hot and humid today.
Thanks for linking up!

Totally did and hoping that you also had a wonderful weekend. I have one more day technically with Kevin being off tomorrow. I even got caught up early this morning with pre-scheduling a few posts for the week and you are right the weather definitely leveled out and supposed to be sunny, hot and humid now for the rest of the week (my kind of weather!!).

Oh boy your soccer world begins! This has been my weekend life for the past 11 years. All 3 of them play so the amount of weekend games is crazy! But I also have to say it's a lot of fun and I enjoy watching them (and taking pictures)!
