Well, another weekend is indeed here and seriously still can not believe how quickly this past week just flew by. We actually warmed up a bit this week and had a few days where we were actually having temperatures near 50 degrees.
Definitely beats the Polar Vortex from last week and will say anything would have felt warmer then single digit temperatures, snow and gusting winds. This week to be honest almost felt like we were experiencing a heat wave. Note, I said almost, because damn it still very much winter and god help me, but still have to get through the rest of January, February and March, too.
Two and half more months, but seriously this weather is making me definitely long for spring now. All, I have to say is the groundhog better foresee an early spring, because I can’t take more of the white stuff!
With that said, I wanted to share with you as always, my 10 Things of Thankful for this past week.
So sit back and enjoy.
1. Finishing Me Before You, but Jojo Moyes. Already beating my Goodreads goal of reading only one book a month having finished 3 and now on my fourth! Yay! Stay tuned for the upcoming review now, too.
2. Emma sharing mini marshmallows with grandpa and decided to be silly by wearing the marshmallow oh her nose.
3. Doing my nails again for the weekend and using a new glitter polish that I purchased during the week from Essie called a A Cut Above.
4. Saturday night family dinner with homemade garlic bread and pizza, too.
5. Relaxing Sunday morning before heading off to soccer.
6. Late Sunday morning indoor soccer for the second week in a row. For some reason, my iPhone is taking less then stellar pictures lately and all the soccer photos I got were blurry. Next time, I will use my Canon camera during the action soccer shots, because I was so disappointed in the photos I got this past weekend.
7. Getting to purchase one of the new Pandora Valentine’s Day charms with my gift card from Christmas.
8. Taking the kids to the mall where they were pretty good and rewarded them with Auntie Anne’s pretzels. I admit I stole a few from them myself. Damn those little pretzel nuggets are just too good.
9. Getting my Le Tote free fashion subscription box to review. Sometimes the review items really are just that much fun to get to review.*
10. Getting a mid week break with taking Lily to Target to buy more nail polish to do our nails this upcoming weekend and even read a bit more during a quiet Tuesday afternoon believe it or not!
A side note by the way, I am on Instagram here and my hashtag to follow me is @jnine0712. Most of the photos above were indeed posted on there and trying to make an conscious effort for 2014 (one of my goals for the new year) to use Instagram more then ever and hope you will follow me over there if you haven’t already!*

Oh, I really want to read Me Before You but I have heard it's not an easy one. What did you think?
As always, the pics of your kids are so fun. Emma is being a little goofball and Lily…too funny! My daughter sits just like that and actually sleeps like that, with ther legs up and crossed. She gets it from my husband, he does the exact same thing! Crazy!
Auntie Ann's pretzels are the bomb! At our mall, they are in the same kiosk as Planet Smoothie so it's a double win!
The LeTote subscription looks like fun. I may let one of my other subscriptions go to look into this one…I have a ton of makeup, skincare and nail polish samples now..may be I'll have to switch up a little!
My recent post Gratitude In Absentia. Well, sort of….TToT in St. Kitts

Sandy, I am so going to be sharing my review on Me Before You (probably Monday) and I already finished another 2 books after this now and seriously can't believe how much I have gotten back into and still love reading so much. Me Before You is definitely heartwarming, but also heart wrenching, too. As for my girls, I am never at a lose for laughs around here (as you can see). Can't believe your daughter falls asleep like that, but after seeing Lily do it I guess anything is possible. Wow to Auntie Anne's and Planet Smoothie being together! And Le Tote is seriously such a fun subscription service and for the money you really get a lot for it 🙂

Lovely list, J9!! Lily is a flexible little princess!!

Scarlet sits like Lily! Oh that is too good.
And I can't wait for your book review. I may cry!
My recent post Cry Me a Frozen Whovian River.
Janine Huldie says
I am telling you Scarlet, Lily and Emma would love each other when they meet. Seriously, the girls already have so much in common already,as do their mamas! As for the review, I am telling you it has been one sad book after another, probably my the winter blues leading me to books that are giving me tons of tears at the end, but still can't resist!
Rosey says
The pictures are great. The one on the couch cracked me up. Your nails are great, but the gorgeous rings, totally show up the polish. 🙂 Not a bad thing! 🙂
My recent post Censorship?
Janine Huldie says
Awe, thanks Rosey and I have to admit I still love my rings to this day. Kevin did great when he picked them out back in the day and never hear any complaints front his girl on that one!! 🙂

It was 44 degrees here yesterday and 69 degrees at Mt. Rainier, one of the snowiest places in the United States. Something is a bit strange when that happens. Have a great Saturday Janine.
Janine Huldie says
That is crazy Bill. It was pouring here a few minus ago and now it is snowing. Honestly the weather has been all over the place and never quite sure what we are getting from one day to the next. But so far Saturday has been quiet and will so take it. Happy Saturday to you, too 🙂

Love your nails and that garlic bread pizza looks delicious. I think you just inspired me to make that for dinner tonite.

Thanks so much Robin and I can't get enough of making homemade pizza weekly now. I think I found my go to for Friday nights during the upcoming lent season!
Lisa @ Meaning of Me says
Auntie Anne's pretzels are too good. I really think it's all that butter…of course!
Lily's relaxing position is terrific. Kidzilla does things like that and I always think first "wow, that's really cute" and second "wait, how in the world did she get herself into that position?" Your girls look like they had a great time at the mall – isn't that the best when you get a good trip out and things go well?
Have a great week!
Janine Huldie says
Lisa, Auntie Anne’s pretzels are the best and ironically enough even before they became popular, I have an Aunt, who I always called Auntie Anne and seriously can’t eat one without thinking about her as crazy as it may seem. And I know I never quite know how my kids do or say some of the things they do! Wishing you a wonderful week again, too 🙂
Mrs. Always Random says
Well, your nails look beautiful (and your ring does too!). And I love the new Pandora bead…just lovely!
Also time to read and a trip to the mall, Target, and Auntie Anne's Pretzels. All that right there would make a fabulous week on their own!
Have a great week-end!
Janine Huldie says
Awe, thank you so much and trust me still shocked at what a great week we did have here and hoping you did, too 🙂
lrconsiderer says
Lily looks SO chilled out. Good for her.
We don't get Aunty Anne's pretzels over here. Sucky cos they sound good. We get Penn State Pretzels though, and they're pretty awesome.
DISLIKING your iPhone for being badly behaved about photographs. BOOO HiSS! Looking forward to non-blurry ones soon (even though Emma and Lily look really cute regardless)
YAY YOU for reading and cooking. Two of my favourite things, those!
Janine Huldie says
Penn State Pretzels sound pretty damn good to me, too. And I know I am so in need of a newer iPhone. I have had the 4 for some time since right after I had Emma (almost 5 years give or take) and I am seriously waiting for a newer, better iPhone to be released, because the 5 doesn't truly seem like that much of an upgrade to me if that makes sense. Same here cooking and reading, definitely two of my favorites for sure 🙂
@Mrs_KarenC says
I know…I HAVE to have Aunt Annies pretzels every time I am at the mall…and being silly with Grandpa is always fun.

Love that picture of Emma with the marshmallow on her nose!! And the way Lily is sitting and relaxing makes me think we should all take lessons in how to chill out!!!
Love your new Pandora charm!

We totally could take a lesson from our kids with relaxing. Seriously, I don’t seem to know how to do that, but should start paying better attention to them, because they so have it down. happy Weekend again, Kim 🙂

My kids would be jealous of the snow! (Okay, I admit I am too.) We always want what we can't have.

Man, I am so jealous of anyone who has warm, beach type weather. So, I guess we are totally jealous of what we don’t have 🙂
Brittnei Washington says
I was just talking to my grandfather about how the weather for you guys has gotten warmer. He lives in NJ. All I could think about though was how this used to happen when I was there and then soon after there would be another snow storm or something right after that random heat wave. I hope that doesn't happen. Snow is annoying to live in. I haven't had an Auntie Anne's pretzel in forever! They are pretty yummy! Oh my! You're not afraid to shop at Target right now? I haven't been to the store in a while but I did buy something online a few months ago. I'm a little nervous to go back for now just because they announced the breech and it was a certain amount of people affected, and then it was even more they reported after a week or so. Maybe I'm being silly. 🙂
My recent post Emotional Yet Thankful
Janine Huldie says
Well, we totally had weird morning with sleet, ice, snow and pouring rain. Just bizarre weather indeed. As for Target, I used my Target Credit Card tad have heard that they were going after bank debit cards, not that it makes it any better, but still I don’t feel as scared knowing they aren’t robbing my bank account in this case.

How fun, I painted the girls' nails this week, too! Something tells me that they'll want another manicure this week. What a cute picture of your Emma with the marshmellow, littly goofy girl 🙂 Enjoy your balmy temperatures, Janine! Happy Weekend!!

That pizza looks amazing!! Olives are my favorite topping!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks so much Kim and I know olives are definitely my weakness as far as toppings go, too!! 🙂

Auntie Anne and I enjoyed your photos and review. Love that hat on Lily! Love to both the girls and to all of you…..xxxxoooo

So glad you both got to see these and so much fun sharing. You should join Instagram, I am over there daily sharing many of these photos and then recapping them here on the weekend xoxoxo 🙂

the snow looks cold! (yeah, I know…. that's the natural writing ability that drove me to blogging!)
but I recall that snow storm (us being in the same part of the country) and fortunately it was a very dry snow and light and easy to shovel.
As much as it is disturbing how fast time passes, we get closer to February, which although still a wintery month, has a certain hint of Spring around the corner that will be a vast improvement over January!
My recent post ‘of taxons and commas’ the Wakefield Doctrine (“… it is still Saturday, right?”)
Janine Huldie says
We must think alike, because I was honestly just saying pretty much the same about heading into February yesterday and then by March, spring and daylight savings time is literally right around the corner (at least on the calendar). And you are right very dry snow from that last snow storm. Here is to spring coming quickly now for all of us for sure 🙂

Love the sparkly nail polish! We got more snow here yesterday and overnight. I think it's stopped for now!
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Kate and having so much fun with my nails (and the girls, too). And we got a bit more snow (very quick) and it turned to rain, before it cleared out. Nothing stuck to the ground and not much to show for it though.
Lanaya says
I want a homemade pizza dinner! Come this way and you can enjoy weather in the 70's! High 70's too!!!!!!
Have a good rest of your day mama.
I'll be screaming at the TV as soon as football starts! Love you!
xoxo

Janine Huldie says
I will make you homemade pizza and would so enjoy the 70s. Seriously, the freezing temperatures are returning this week and very jealous of 70s. Enjoy the game today and I just finished catching up on last weeks episodes of Girls on HBO. Now, not sure what I have on tap, but nice to still have another day off with Kevin off from work tomorrow for Martin Luther King Day. Love you too xoxo 🙂

OMG! I have to tell you this – Niece came and sat on my lap at her party this avo, with a plate of cake, and arranged herself EXACTLY LIKE LILY! Right down to the crossed leg! WOW! Is this 'little kid chillout position of the week' or what?
She's also really happy to hear that Emma and Lily would like to be penpals. She smiled SO big when I said that Emma had a little sister who'd also like pictures from her 😀
Janine Huldie says
You seriously put the biggest smile on my face and seriously this is the kid position of the week from the sounds of it.
And my girls are so excited too about drawing and having your niece as a pen pal now, too 🙂
Dyanne@ Backsies says
Since Emma has fun with marshmallows, you need to teach her how to play Chubby Bunny.
Love the nonchalant way Lily is sitting, like she doesn't have a care in the world.
Your pizza always looks divine and gives me cravings!
My recent post Little Things Mean A Lot

So I need to know what Chubby Bunny actually is. I taught middle school, not pre-school before having kids, so clueless here 🙂

Everytime I go to the mall I always have to get those pretzels as well. They are super delicious! Loving the nailpolish as well. As for that heatwave, we've had really great weather these past couple of days. No winter jackets, just a light sweater and we're good. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Seriously, I am so jealous of the short and light sweater wearing weather you have been experiencing. It is supposed to get very cold here again and just cannot now wait for the spring to come now, because I am hating this colder then cold winter we have been having now. But glad you have been having a great weekend and hope you have a wonderful week ahead, too 🙂

Trust me 11:30 isn’t that bad, but when the spring season starts up again and we have 9:30 soccer for Emma, I will totally be complaining, because seriously just too early to get both kids and myself out the door on Sunday morning. And seriously my pleasure Jen and thank you for your support always, as well 🙂

And those nails? LOVE!!!!

Janine Huldie says
I know it seems like I don't, but I totally do Chris and last night I went to bed before 11 pm and even slept in until 7:30 this morning (being a day where Kevin and the girls have off). And the books, I seriously wasn't lying when I said I love to read and it was truly killing me last year that I didn't, because like an old comfortable friend, I missed books and reading so much. And I am also seriously having fun doing my nails now. Just love the weekend manicures, I do Friday afternoon here to myself. Totally starts my weekend off on the right foot 🙂
lizzy allan says
Your nail polish looks so great, Janine and I've gotta say I couldn't help admiring those rings on your finger too – they're stunning! I'm so glad to read that the girls' soccer is indoors – by the looks of that snow, it would be pretty tricky to play outside! The days over here In Australia have been so hot lately, I wouldn't mind having quick roll around in that snow. It must take such a long time to dress kids to go out in freezing weather. That's something I haven't had a lot of experience in. It must require a whole lot of patience! 🙂
My recent post Italian lesson numero due – the signs of the zodiac
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Lizzy and funny story we were just talking about my rings, my husband and I and I said again that I totally still love them and he told me that was a good thing, because sentimentally these were the rings he gave to me, so these were mine for the rest of my days 🙂 As for snow, it is a real pain in the butt to get the girls all dressed for it and glad I only have to do that sparingly here to be quite honest!!
