Let It Go – An Elsa Style Announcement

Filed Under: BLOG, Dogs, Kids Posts, Married Life, Pets Tagged With: Elsa, Frozen, Let It Go, New Puppy, Soccer, Weddings

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door!

Been trying more and more each weekend now, to indeed Let It Go as Elsa belts it out in the movie Frozen.

Elsa Singing Let It Go

This past weekend, I honestly took the majority of the weekend off and have to admit it was truly a much needed time away from the computer, blogging and designing, too.  The weather was absolutely perfect – not a cloud in the sky and mid 80s all weekend long.

Yet honestly, this was a bit of a planned break since Kevin and I had a wedding out of town for one of Kevin’s co-workers on Saturday.

We left mid-day and traveled up through the mountains in NY State about 2 hours away and came home very late that night.

Kevin and I – Enjoying the Wedding

Honestly, was a great time, but I admit I missed the girls and truly am used to putting them to sleep each night.  So, my biggest concern was that one or both would cry at bedtime that we weren’t there. Apparently, Lily did cry a bit, but fell asleep on the couch with Kevin’s mom to have Kevin carry her asleep to her bed when we got home.

My bed was calling, but unfortunately no sleeping in was in the cards for us as an early morning was to be had for us as we had the girl’s last soccer games bright and early first thing at 9:30 am sharp.  Daddy is Emma’s coach, so we couldn’t skip or miss a game let alone the last one where metals were to be had.

Once the game was over, we grabbed a bite to eat and then we found ourselves of all places at the local animal shelter, where we just so happened to meet and fall in love with our newest member of our family.

Meet Elsa – Yes, my Frozen obsessed princesses found out the puppy was a girl and had to name her after their favorite princess, Elsa.

Our New Puppy - Elsa

Our New Puppy – Elsa

Honestly, we have been wanting a dog for some time, but I kept putting it off, but right now I am with the majority on this and absolutely adore her.

She was a bit of an early birthday present (mine is tomorrow) and Father’s Day gift for Kevin this coming Sunday.

I will say this though, I may be more bit pre-occupied right now.  So please forgive me in advance if I am and just know I am here still, but also giving our girl a bit more extra love and attention now.  So, this is me truly trying to “Let It Go” and enjoy every moment with my family, especially now that it is indeed summer and the warm beautiful weather is upon us, too.

Congratulations for taking the weekend off. Seriously, I am so tired of that song….you are too young, but many years ago there was a song called "Feelings." Huge hit, and the radio stations played it like every hour…..and now I cringe when I hear it…that's how I am with this song. LOL Have a great week my friend.

Just this Saturday, I had a blogging related gig and had to be out of the house the whole day and I thought of them the entire time. Thankfully, they were okay and NOT ONE thing broken in the house. All is good. 🙂

OHMYGOSH I just spent almost 30 minutes doing this amazing giveaway! I love meeting new blogging friends so it's wonderful to try to follow many new bloggers.

Janine- GOOD FOR YOU for 'letting it go' as best you can my friend!! Seasons happen… and you have the power and the ability to choose what you do with every one of them. I am also convicted by my OWN CHILDREN when they say they want more of me. When we were talking about this summer- they shard their one and only wish- more of me. In their days…their nights… their summer.

    Sigh…

And that I will do. What is more important than that? It's hard to let go- oh how I know!!

Wow – I LOVE dogs and Elsa is sooo cute (and what a perfect name too!). I'm so excited for you all! I always joke how Matilda was our 4th child. Raising a puppy has lots of similarities to having an infant again, doesn't it? I guess the good news is no diapers and you can leave her alone in the house for a few hours – LOL. Anyway, enjoy her – we are considering a SECOND pup!! 🙂

Emily, you said a mouthful and will admit it is a bit like having a mother baby, but yes I can totally leave the house for a bit (as I have her in a crate when we run out for a quick errand or so). So, that does make it a bit easier in some ways for sure. And can't wait to hear if you get a second pup, too 🙂

Awwww, so cute. Elsa is a good name for a pup too. I have been off blogging for a bit too. We went away this weekend for a wedding as well & had to leave Mai as it was no kids. It was a blast, but I missed her ridiculously. This was the time we have gotten away as a couple since she was born. You always need that time away, but then once you have it you just want to get home.

    • Janine Huldie says

      June 16, 2014 at 6:47 am

Glad you got some time away and I know we definitely need it, but it is a double edge sword, because we miss our kids a ton still.

You and Hubby look great! I'm so glad you got to enjoy a grown up night – every mom needs one once in a while. Congrats on your new family member!!! Elsa is adorable. Is she a Golden? Our Sonny is a 7 month old Golden and even though he's a rascal and he eats everything, he is a good boy, a quick learner and the perfect addition to our family. Good luck with that little girl. How wonderful that your girls will be growing up with her.

  65. Janine Huldie says

    June 19, 2014 at 9:38 pm

Jen, Elsa is totally a golden retriever and like Sonny, a good girl, but teething already and wanting to eat and bite everything, too. Love that we got her, but hoping to do some puppy training courses that may help with the eating and biting, but for the most part she is so good indeed 🙂
