Seriously cannot believe it is the middle of November now and Thanksgiving, as well as Lily’s 3rd birthday is right around the corner now (a week from today!).
With all of this, last weekend and this week were still truly very busy indeed and will share all about it in my Thankful Things Portion of this article, as well as catch all up on this week’s blog article’s, too!
Now, without further ado, I want to share all about this week and my photos, too, by getting the party started with My Ten Eleven Thankful Things~
1. For Friday evening dinner, we didn’t have much left in the house, but we still had shredded Mexican cheese, soft taco shells to make cheese Quesadillas, rice and even black bean soup. I love when I have things in the pantry pull together a great meal in a pinch.
2. Friday night, turned off the computer and found one of my favorite movies of all time, when my mom texted me to tell me Yours, mine and Ours (the Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda version) was on. Total score, except I fell asleep before the end, but still loved that I got to watch it again!
Yours, Mine and Ours!3. Saturday morning, found Kevin and kids being silly on our bed. Always happy to see the smiles and hear the giggles, too.
Silly, Lounging Times!4. Saturday night, we went out to Friendly’s for dinner and before it took the girls next door to see all the puppies for sale. They were totally smitten and their faces told the tale.
5. Sunday morning, Emma made it back for her second to last soccer game after being sick the past two weekend’s games. Unfortunately no pictures, because Lily wanted to be held and actually dropped her off to my mom for part of the hour, because I thought she might be getting sick again. Thankfully not so, but missed a good portion of the game due to this.
6. Sunday afternoon, Burger King for lunch, followed by me returning to this Disney Store where I got a price adjust totally in my favor. The 25% friends and family sale was running and had only purchased the Sophia Pajamas and a few other Christmas gifts for the girls the day before the sale started. Got the coupon in the mail the day after, of course. So I opted to fight to get the 25% back. I didn’t look at the receipt until got home, where I found the girl gave me back way more then the 25%, so Merry early Christmas to my checkbook!
7. Sunday night, paninis! I swear I took pictures and am so in the process now in sharing this recipe. Stay tuned!
8. Monday morning, Kevin and the girls made chocolate chip pancakes on the year’s Veteran’s Day. And to think 5 years ago on this day, I found out I was pregnant with Emma!
Mixing Pancakes9. Monday afternoon, my dad was receiving a 20% off Veteran’s Day employee discount at Lowe’s and was able to get me this discount to purchase the last Mickey Mouse blow up for the lawn to decorate outside for Christmas. The girls are in love and grandpa plugged in inside to show them what we got for them.
Mickey!10. I cannot say enough how blessed I feel that I have made some wonderful friends through blogging. One such friend is Lanaya from Raising Reagan. A group of us recently got together to do a Secret Santa for our one of our blogging groups this year. Well, lo and behold, my bestie, Lanaya got me. What did she get me? Well, those who read the book, The Mother of All Meltdown’s, I contributed to should be well versed on my feelings of PLAYDOUGH. Needless to say, Lanaya got me good on this gift and also knows my love of all things ‘Sheldon’ of the Big Bang Theory with a brand new pair of kitty socks. Not to mention the white chocolate peppermint bark that sadly there are no pictures of because me no sweets will power made me almost annihilate the glorious sweets on the very first day! Thanks again Lanaya and seriously I love you and so happy to have such an amazing friend in you!!
11. Last, but certainly not least, I am thankful again that weekend is indeed here and hoping to relax a bit.

I don't like play-doh AT ALL and I have no reasonable explaination why. LOL. I love the smell, but I hate when the kids ask to play with it.

I now have an explanation, but will say that it does smell oh so good and agree with you on that one, Robin!! 🙂

I love the smell of Playdough too…I think it's the reminder of childhood. At least that's what I'm going with!
Thanks for a great list! Have a fabulous week-end!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend now, too and I know that smell still is so good (as much as I despise as messy toy, still give props to the smell!).

Oh, I envy you for the Playdoh!
I haven't had fun playing with that since my daughter was little – hope you have hours and hours of fun with your girls 🙂
Janine Huldie says
Thanks Katy, but totally was a joke gift, because of something I wrote in a recent book I was published in. My girls made a mess with it and my blog friend was busting my chops and teasing me on this gift, but still couldn't help, but laugh, because she got me good!! 🙂

Sounds like you had an awesome week. I would have so taken my receipt back as well because I love a saving as well. Loving the pancake mix photo and the one of Mickey and the girls. I hope you're having great weekend!

Thanks you so much for sharing those pictures. I found Violet in my bed after I got back into our room to get dressed last week. She had crawled in and was cuddling with her daddy, all too sweet! Daddies and their daughters are so special!! Love the socks you got, and the Mickey Mouse blow-up is awesome! Please take a picture when it's out on your lawn!! And a huge yay on the discount for your holiday purchases!
Hope you have a great weekend, Janine!!

Totally promise to take a picture out on our lawn for sure when we setup Mickey. Seriously, was so excited to get him, because when we first saw him before Halloween, both girls couldn't stop hugging him in the store! And totally my pleasure for sharing those pictures, because my heart melted seeing the girls and Kevin together (I always love seeing them goofing around). Wishing you a wonderful weekend now, too!! 🙂

I love being able to pull something out of the pantry to make a good, healthy dinner. Of course, that would happen more often if I simply planned meals. 🙂
We had pancakes this morning. Love pancake morning…

Those socks are THE BOMB! Wow 😀
I'm glad your pantry provided a good meal. Mine has had occasion to do that when I haven't been able to muster up the willpower to go shopping, and it's a huge relief.
I do so love all your photos of Kevin and the girls. The pancake mixing one is precious 😀
Janine Huldie says
Lizzi, I am in total agreement about the socks. I am actually sitting bed now wearing them! And I love pulling together, a quick, but still tasty pantry meal. Thanks as always for hosting and am so psyched, I already have my post for next week written, dedicated to Lily on her 3rd birthday!! 😉

I also love being able to throw dinner together with food from the pantry.

It is wonderful to be able to throw dinner together with things you already have. That is one thing I have really worked hard at – to make sure I have a well stocked pantry and a well stocked freezer. I can always whip something up if I need to, unless it's a really bad health day and then we might have to compromise and eat out. I too absolutely LOVE the smell of play doh, but HATE when the kids want to play with it. I find pieces of it dried up all over the house. It is just so messy and they mix the colors together, etc. I could go on and on. Glad they are past that stage but of course now I find paint and markers everywhere. 🙂
My recent post Five Minute Friday – Tree
Janine Huldie says
I am still finding crayon all over at times, but no more Playdough, because I am a mean mom who just won't let them play with it on my watch. After the very last disaster with is, I put in the garage out of the reach for now, but I promise they are not lacking in the toy department and my home seriously looks like an extension of Toys R Us! But seriously, love having a stocked pantry, too and have worked hard myself on that, as well!! 🙂

White chocolate peppermint bark??? I have a real problem with that stuff…a good kind of problem.
Five years ago on the 15th, I found out I was pregnant with Scarlet. I was "due" on the day after election day – November 5th. It never happened for me and it took ten more days for me to take a pregnancy test. I was ten days late by then!

Me too and let me tell you I am addicted to it. Seriously, I made it homemade one year and let's just say I ate more then I had for my guests! I found out with Emma on the 11th, 5 years ago I was pregnant with her and was due 2 years later with Lily on the 29th and never did make it to that day either!! I love that we have this in common and seriously just love you, Tamara!! 🙂 xoxo!!

You are probably the only other person I know who loves the movie, "Yours, Mine and Ours"! I am old, so I remember seeing this at the movie theater. My favorite part is when his boys get Lucille Ball's character drunk. Love it! I love to make my family watch campy old Disney-type movies that I enjoyed as a kid.
Glad the girls are well and that you had a great week! Looking forward to hearing all about Lily's birthday.
My recent post It's Not Just About Kittens This Week!

I loved that part and always get such a kick out of Henry Fonda telling Lucille Ball that she has been "the victim of an alcoholic Peal Harbor Bombing!" Cracks me up every time and also when Mr. C. from Happy Days says, "Have a heart leave them on somebody else's doorstep!" You better believe my kids will watch this one when they are old enough with me! And o promise to share next weekend all about Lily and her birthday!! 🙂
