One of the more charming aspects of Disney parks is that the built environments are so picturesque and transportive. No matter how many times you experience them, they always carry that same magic that is so hard to discover in the real world. It’s hard to imagine taking a bad photo anywhere in the Magic Kingdom. However, some locations translate better than others. The next time you take your camera to Disney World have it ready when you get to these five Magic Kingdom photo spots.
The Top 5 Magic Kingdom Photo Spots
Main Street Train Depot
Before you go anywhere else there is a perfect family photo opportunity as soon as you enter Town Square. The train depot at Main Street is iconic and makes for an excellent backdrop whether you plan on taking the Walt Disney World Railroad or not. The reason this is absolutely one of the best Magic Kingdom photo spots is that this is the gateway to the worlds of fantasy that lie ahead. Nikon suggests using a wide-angle lens when you take your family photo here.
Tiki Statues
Speaking of Nikon, they have staked out official picture spots around the park. One of the Magic Kingdom photo spots they include on their map is the Tiki States in Adventureland. These guys make a unique backdrop in the heart of the tropical jungle surroundings. The location is marked by a sign so you can’t miss it.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Also on the official Nikon sponsored list of Magic Kingdom photo spots is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This attraction looms over a sprawling frontier wilderness environment that translates very well whether you are capturing a selfie for Instagram, or a candid photo of a loved one having the time of their life. This is a rather large area and there are many opportunities and angles for great photos. However, as an official Nikon selection, this location also has a sign that shows you exactly how to frame the perfect shot.
Tomorrowland Corridor
As Magic Kingdom photo spots go, few are as dynamic and multifaceted as the Tomorrowland Corridor. Time of day has a huge impact on the overall character and you can take gorgeous photos day or night. The busy and aesthetically complex corridor makes a fun backdrop in the daylight, but when it lights up at night, it demands central focus. Try the water with alien rock formations nearby for a tranquil, yet otherworldly vibe, and the #purplewall as well.
Cinderella Castle
Hard to believe this is not an official Nikon picture spot. Perhaps it’s because there is no one way to shoot the international icon. Cinderella Castle can even technically be photographed from well outside the park, due to some creative imagineering. Shots of the castle work great from any angle and it’s a fun place for a family photo, where you can have a professional photographer help. They will take a picture with your camera for free. This is also a great spot to get a low angle shot of your youngster as they beam with excitement and anticipation over the day’s adventures.
There you have the top 5 photo spots to take pictures at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Dara says
Great photo spots! I sometimes see those Nikon signs but usually I just snap away at whatever, there are so many spots that I love! We did the purple wall last time!
Janine says
Dara, I am a total sucker for the Nikon spots as I don’t technically bring any other camera than my iPhone with me during my visits. Since I have the annual pass, I am entitled to Memory Maker with my pass. So, to me, I use every last inch of Photo Pass that I can with that. But loved seeing your awesome photos you have taken yourself from your past trips, too π
